downright excellent - Edit
Came here once based on the reviews and kept returning almost every day during a week while in Hanoi.
Read moreHaven’t found anything remotely comparable price/quality wise. The desserts we had were all very tasty, the portions of the sandwiches are really good and the lox... Jesus the lox! It must be one of the best dishes I’ve eaten.
Great coffee and juices too.
Pros: Carrot Lox Bagel!, good portions, really good and pretty cheap compar, good coffee, deserts and juices too
Cons: unsure about the birds in the cages, but haven’t a, closes at 7pm

wow! amazing little spot - Edit
We really love this place. It’s a quaint cafe on the 2nd floor and you can eat on the covered deck or inside. The home made bread and bagels with cashew cheeze and carrot lox was outstanding. The smoothies, banana bread and tiramisu were fantastic too! Great fresh flavour!

Charming, Delicious, and Cozy - Edit
La Studio is one of my favorite Hanoi spots. The food was incredible, the servers were kind, their sweet dog was a pleasure, interacting with guests for a bit upon arrival and then leaving them to rest in what seems to be his personal chair. The decor is quite nice, the music was relaxing, and food was fresh and nicely presented.
Read moreThe lox bagel was fantastic and my favorite food item. The homemade bagel was quite good and the salty carrot lox reminded me of the lox flavor I enjoyed many years ago. The hummus and vegetables on bread was also quite good, with an amazing homemade bread that was thick and moist on the inside, but toasty and partly charred on the outside. The banana ice cream granola was also quite fantastic. The granola was perfectly toasted and lightly sweet, unlike so many sugary ones. For dessert I tried a brownie with currants (I think that was it) ice cream which was phenomenal. The brownie was lightly sweet, but also a tad bitter from the cocoa which was perfect for my palate. The ice cream, which I nearly omitted, was a showstopper and is not to be missed.
It seems La Studio will only serve food so long as they have any left. Because everything is homemade the quality is fantastic!
Pros: Food, Ambiance, Decor

Cute friendly vegan cafe - Edit
Tricky to find, but worth the quest! It's on the second floor and does have a little sign but would be easy to miss. The hummus bagel was delicious, we just wanted more of it! If the brownie is available, get it with the ice cream- you won't regret it!
Read moreThe tumeric latte and hot cocoa were nice but very sweet. Such a luxury to have everything be vegan though! Also very cheap for Hanoi standards. :)
Pros: All vegan, Nice atmosphere, Good price

Great Vibes - Edit
I love the vibes of this place! The girl who runs it is so chill and laid back! I could spend my entire day there, just reading and drinking coffee. I only ate a Pumpkin Cake and it was good and the portion was big for the price (35k). Highly recommend!

Cozy spot for dessert - Edit
This little cafe was a little hard to find but once you do, it's a lovely place to have a piece of homemade cake or try their all day breakfast. The carrot cake was nice, not overly sweet but I would've preferred more icing. Granola parfait with banana ice cream was rich and fresh.

Pros: cute little spot away from the hustle and bustle o, freshly made desserts, western breakfast looked good- had dishes like veg

Hidden gem - Edit
The earlier you get here, the more choices you have.
Read moreI arrived 1 1/2 hours before closing time some time last week and the only food left was the granola (banana ice cream) and some smoothie, juices and coffee tea.
Menu options look really good and if they're half as nice as the granola, you're in for a treat. I will let you know as soon as I've sampled more...😁
PS. Sweetest dog ever! ❤
Pros: All vegan, Relaxing atmosphere, English menu and English-speaking staff
Cons: Birds in cages might be a little off putting

Me and my boyfriend have been here several times and spend lot's of time trying different food and drinks. We love the relaxed atmosphere, the nice owner and of course the homemade bread, the fresh juices and the muffins. My absolute favourite is the Morningsmoothie!
Read moreEverything is homemade, even the coffee is roasted in small portions there and the owner likes to do everything on her own, this can take time, especially when there are more guests, so take your time to enjoy.

Delicious cake and juices! - Edit
The fresh juices were delicious and we had a really nice matcha cheesecake. The shop is really cute and would be a nice place to chill for a while. There was only one cake on offer though so you had to have whatever the cake was that day, which was delicious. But more options would be good.

It is in 2floor and in some home, little spooky and hard to find. No sign outside. It doesn't look like a backer at all. But they are new i think. A dog in their apartment tried to attack my son. You can get the feeling of how the local lives and how a home looks like. So for adventure i would do it. Food was ok

Hello!
Read moreSorry for you experience at Lá. From what I remembered you came to our place when it was already dark outside and really near closing time to get some take-away, but the light of the building wasn't on (it wasn't control by us) so I think that's why you find our place hard and a little spooky. For us Hanoians it's a natural and interesting thing to come in small alleys or up the old apartment buildings because it's how locals do it, but I do understand your point :)
To answer you and to warn people in advance, we have a very hyper pup at our cafe, he is a part of our family. He barks at strangers especially kids as dogs do, and play-bites when he gets excited (he gets time-out when he goes overboard and annoys our customers too much), but he never intentionally "attack" anyone. When you let him sniff you for a bit he will get friendly :)
I hope you can come back to our cafe someday in daytime to fully experience what we have to offer! If not, thank you for the feedback as well :)

My girlfriend and I went on the hunt for this hidden gem. Unfortunately, it is currently under reservation (as of 19/08/2017!), though I don't know how long for. Anyway, she was more than happy to serve us for take out so we bought two banana and walnut muffins and 2 cinamon swirls; heavenly!
