A bit expensive - Edit
Restaurant located on the first floor of a building, which can only be accessed by narrow stairs. The weekend menu consists of 3 starters (all vegan), 3 main courses (2 vegan) and 3 vegan desserts. The food is simple but tasty. There was no source of protein in all the menu. The food is clearly homemade. I especially liked the dessert (coconut flan). The menu costs €24, which seems expensive to me for the food they offer.

One of the oldest vegetarian restaurants in Zaragoza - Edit
One of the oldest vegetarian restaurants in Zaragoza. The menu consists of three starters to choose from, three seconds and dessert. The food is good and almost all of it is vegan, but it is low in protein. There is not much space and to access with a baby carriage it is a bit difficult because you have to climb three flights of stairs. A little expensive.

Absolutely Delicious!! - Edit
I can't recommend this place enough. We went here for a celebration dinner and it was absolutely amazing! We were so glad that we stopped halfway through the wonderful huge appetizers so we had enough room for the main course of delicious vegan crepes and vegan lasagna. It was served with an excellent local organic wine and topped off with chocolate raspberry cake. This was no ordinary cake. We've both had lots of vegan cake, but this one was light, and highlighted its flavors beautifully. We left dazzled and happy.

Filling and friendly but no wow - Edit
We went on a Saturday and the staff were friendly. We were the first to arrive and although the room was clean and looked nice, it was cold.
Read moreWe chose the €23 and €20 options menus. The first came with wine, but no bread as promised.
There were good portion sizes for starters but the Puding de Brecol was partially cold.
We liked the recycled place mats and napkins and the reuse of cutlery.
The food was mostly well presented but didn't have much flavour, it would have been a lot nicer with the use of herbs and spices.
Pros: Friendly staff, filling menu, recycling and reuse
Cons: Cold room, no bread as promised on menu, food lack

I spent over 35 minutes walking across central Zaragoza looking for a place to have lunch. Luckily enough, the first two I tried, which were closer to my working place, were closed so I ended up in La Retama. First of all when I got in there it was 20 minutes to closing time but they told me it was totally fine to stay to have lunch. Then the restaurant is located on a first floor overlooking a nice street, with the sun getting inside the venue across the trees. And last, but not least, the food was amazing, super warm and delicious with a superb home-made touch. Plus only 1 main course was vegetarian from a total of ten dishes to choose from (5 first / 5 main courses). Do not even think about missing it if you ever visit Zaragoza.

Familiar restaurant - Edit
With its entrance located backwards the premises, and after going up an old wood stair, a small restaurant with 15-20 places and a rustic bar waits you for a familiar meal. The price of menu is ever 23 euros all included (no surprises) and you can choice from a half os dozen starters and same for main courses and desserts. All except two of them are vegan. Very good quality of food.

Cons: No for wheelchairs, Quite expensive for regular meals

Super! - Edit
A lovely upstairs restaurant with a view over a tree-lined street and friendly staff. The lunch-time menu del dia had more than half vegan options. We had a soup, salad, hamburger and lasagne. All vegan and delicious. The vegan dessert was a carob and banana tart that was perfect. All the food had a homely authenticity and healthy feel. Love it!
