Loved our three courses.

Service was excellent and friendly.
The premises are stressed rustic but the food is posh lovely.

Creative food - Edit
Restaurant with a varied menu that includes Spanish and international dishes. All the dishes look very good. We ordered croquettes with bravioli sauce (very good), Middle Eastern rice, pad thai and for dessert, horchata cream. All the dishes were delicious and had a unique combination of flavours. Highly recommended. I warn those of you who, like me, read the “beetroot ravioli” dish and think that they are filled with beetroot: no, the ravioli are made of beetroot (not pasta), I warn you because the name of the dish may seem confusing.

I ordered for delivery. I liked everything we ordered: the croquettes, the pad thai, and the Middle Eastern rice. We also had the horchata cream for dessert, which I found very original.

Amazing food - Edit
The food was very tasty and the portions were really large. Also the menu was not mainly "fancy fastfood" as many vegan places in Madrid are.

Volveremos!

Really good! - Edit
Went here with some more people and got to try manh of their dishes. We ordered the lentil ceviche salad, their charcuterie board, the pad thai, mushroom durum, tofu and "tuna" tartar, and a burger. All was good, although we especially liked the pad thai, the ceviche, and the charcuterie board. We also asked for bread and it was really delicious too.
Read moreFor dessert we had the horchata cream which was nice and the cheesecake which was really delicious.

Cute decore, friendly staff - Edit
this was a very cute an aesthetically pleasing restaurant. The food was very good and beautifully presented. I do wish they had more options on their revenue and items for children, but they also have several raw dishes, which was a cool find!

Nice, but not exceptional - Edit
The description in the menu does not convey what you will get, so it would be nice to have pictures in the menu.
Read moreWe got "best seller" - croquettes, which were not crunchy.
Oven rice stew with beyond sausage, that was a surprise for me, since I expect something different.
Takos was tasty, but a bit bland.
The cake of the day was nice.

Es war lecker! - Edit

Independent all vegan restaurant in a cool part of town - Edit
Located in a bohemian area of Madrid, this independent vegan restaurant is worth checking out. Spanish food is generally a little bland for my palette; I found that with the food here. The flavours were good but could perhaps benefit from some fire!

Rico y opciones originales - Edit
Pros: Originalidad, Sabor, Ambiente agradable
Cons: Precio moderado

Genial - Edit

Comida vegana exquisita - Edit

Creative Culinary Twists on Cultural Staples - Edit
Creative culinary twists on cultural staples make La Encomienda a viable option for any local Madrileño. There are more successes (and risks) than failures, but La Encomienda falls short of being superior in a city full of vegan marvels.
Read moreThe atmosphere exudes faux-high dining with pointed bare-stone walls and soft, sultry lighting. It would be a great place to grab an evening La Latina drink. The wait staff was friendly and informed on all diet restrictions. We were accompanied by a gluten-free diner who appreciated the reassurance.
The menu varies between Pad Thai, Tofu tacos, and African-style rice, providing something for everyone. The food is creative, twisting traditional meals into something original. The Pad Thai was creamed with avocado and sprinkled with crushed pistachios (a beautiful textural mix). Although the rice pasta was slightly overcooked (understanding that gluten-free pasta is temperamental), the dish still satisfied. The desert achieved something moist where most fall flat: moisture. Most cakes crumble into nothing as soon as the utensil penetrates. Instead, the Chocolate cake exuded moistness, holding together until the last bite.
The biggest knock is the price-to-portion ratio. They are small plates (don't come hungry), but the pricing isn't wildly unequal. I would have been happier to pay more for a grander portion.
La Encomienda still satisfies through a risk-taking menu and twisty cultural plates: a viable option for any gluten-free or vegan (or combined) local diner.
Pros: Location, Atmosphere, Gluten-free options
Cons: Portions
