Not an option for vegans

I recently attempted to have dinner here with a group, and as I’m the only vegan I reached out previously asking about their vegan options and I was informed that it would not be a problem. At the restaurant the server tried to give me a meat dish twice, then came back with my vegan dish which was covered in cheese, and eventually after everyone else had ate, my vegan food arrived but I didn’t trust it enough to eat it. I wouldn’t consider this to be an option for anyone who is vegan.

Disappointing

They do not offer actual vegan dishes. They simply have vegans pay for removed items they can’t eat. They could get just a bit creative with plant based options.

Pros: Good salsa, Reasonable prices for meat eaters

Cons: No substitutions for removing animal products, Limited vegan options, Refried beans are pretty bad

Classic Mexican comfort food!

The veggie blend can be ordered in a smothered big burrito, tacos, tostada etc. Listed as vegetarian, their classic refried beans didn’t have lard (always hard to be sure) and the flaky fluffy Mexican rice wasn’t made with animal broth. It was really nice to enjoy these flavors with confidence. And the staff had no trouble omitting cheese and sour cream. And being gluten-free, I can attest the corn tortillas and chips and the ranchero sauce are indeed GF.

Pros: Classic Am-Mexi flavors , Vegetarian Beans and rice!, Affordable friendly family restaurant

Cons: Could be spicier

Large servings & good vegan options

Stopped in for a late lunch / early dinner. Food was great. I had vegetarian burrito without cheese or sour cream (vegan style). Tastes great. Had a lot of potatoes in along with some veggies. Chips and salsa were good as well. A welcome spot after hiking up Tahquitz Peak.

Pros: Vegetarian and vegan menu, Generous servings, Great Mexican food for non vegan friends

Good vegan options

Really cute little restaurant that has good vegan options (beans are lard free, rice is animal stock free). I got the veggie tacos (just say no sour cream or cheese) and I was most pleased. It’s hard to find a Mexican restaurant that has vegan options but it’s even harder to find one with GOOD vegan options. The veggie tacos were action packed with zucchini, potatoes, carrots (and more) and the beans are definitely some of the best refried beans I’ve eaten. Thank you La Casita!

Yummy! Post hike feast.

Great food. Friendly service.
Good selection of vegetarian options.
First off, the Jalepeno olive oil dip that comes with the chips was AMAZING! House salsa was fresh and tasty. Just the right amount of spiciness.
We shared a chile relleno and vege burrito. The flavors of the burrito were wonderful. The veges were roasted! This included potato, carrots, onion, zucchini and tomatoes.
Didn't ask if the beans were vegetarian, sometimes we just don't want to know. Flavors was good.
The next table over had the vegetarian tamales. They looked good and are on the short list for next time

Pros: Good selection of vegetarian choices., Taste was amazing. , Friendly service.

Cons: Not vegan. Option for no cheese or sour cream., Parking tight when busy
