Not worth it - Edit
We tried to order the vegan enchiladas that others had recommended. My husband ordered the enchiladas and asked the waiter to confirm it was vegan. The waiter was so confused by the word vegan that it just really threw him off I guess. Despite my husband pointing it out to him on the menu and showing that it said vegan and all the ingredients were vegan, he was really confused and said it had cheese and he got us a “vegan” quesadilla instead, which was just vegetables in a cut up tortilla. It was not good and very hard to eat.
Read moreWe didn’t like the vegan burrito much either. Don’t love broccoli and carrots in a burrito.
The one redeeming thing is that the beans and rice are vegan, which I really appreciate, as some places use lard.
Pros: Vegan rice and beans
Cons: Confused by the word vegan, Didn’t like the food much

Simple and good food - Edit
The veggie enchiladas were basic with guacamole inside with the veggies. The “sauce” was tangy and gave it a nice flavor. We ordered with pinto beans, but these tasted and looked more like cannellini beans to me 🤷♀️.
Read moreI gave it a 3 because there are other non-vegan restaurants that do more and better with veg options, that deserve a 4 to stand out.
Patio seating is nice. Want to go back and try their alcoholic beverages.
Pros: Patio, No lard in their beans, At least 3 options

Not a lot of vegan options but the enchiladas is very nice. Mixed veg - broccoli, carrot, zucchini. Amazing dressing, beans and rice.

Okay - Edit
It’s good for vegan options if you’re with a crowd and they want to go here. Then you can order something. But don’t expect to be impressed. I ordered the vegetable enchiladas. The rice and black beans were adequate and the enchiladas and sauce were uninspired. I ate it all and it was good but not memorable or worth it.

Might check out viva Mexico in Sebastopol or Tortilla real in Petaluma. They have some really good food.

Decent Vegan Options - Edit
This restaurant was recommended to us by several locals. The menu clearly states that they do not use lard in the beans, which was reassuring. The menu is marked with items that can be made vegan, but make sure to specify.
Read moreI got the vegan enchiladas, which were filled with sauteed vegetables and guacamole, topped with salsa verde, and served with rice and black beans. The veggies were a random assortment; mostly broccoli and squash with a couple of carrot chunks and green beans thrown in. The veggies were barely cooked and flavorless. The rice and beans were good. So overall, ok, but not amazing.
However, the worst part was my iced tea, of all things. It was truly horrible. The waitress was very nice and understanding about me asking for something else. Apparently they hear that a lot...
Pros: Nice Staff, Several vegan options
Cons: Veggies were barely cooked and bland, Terrible iced tea

Best Burrito. - Edit
I eat here at least once a week. Their guacamole is to die for. The staff is pretty friendly and will happily modify your food and make it dairy free if you let them know. You can modify most of their dishes and make it vegan. I love their vegetarian burrito, it comes with mixed vegetables, your choice of beans and Mexican rice.

fantastic avacado relleno - Edit
Try the avacado relleno with vegetables. Avacado, chili relleno on top smothered with veggies, black beans, and tasty sauce. Good wine selection. Good patio. 4 star is highest non vegetarian rating.

Our FAVORITE place in Sonoma - Edit
My husband and I joined the ranks of the whole food, plant based, no oil eaters in 2008 and haven't looked back since. We now live around the corner from this place and consider ourselves super lucky to do so. La Casa not only has a vegetarian section in their menu but understand that "no dairy" means no cheese, no sour cream. We go so often they know to bring an order of corn tortillas and hold the chips when we walk in the door. Love the food. And, great margaritas!
