Awesome! - Edit
Tasty empanadas! Wide variety of meals and desserts. The vegan ravioli pomodoro were super tasty and the chorrillana plate was sooo big and filling!

muy rica la comida. Las papas de la chorillana podrían haber estado menos quemadas y haber agregado más cebolla o verduritas. El gnocci estaba bastante bueno.

Generous portions for their fondo del dia - Edit
First meal in Valparaiso. La Boca Del Oso was conveniently on the way to our hotel so we stopped by and grabbed lunch. Vegetarian but super vegan-friendly. The restaurant is located up the street at a busy intersection. You won’t get the views that Valpo is known for but you will get a generous serving of their fondo del dia (served on Mon-Fri) and award-winning empanadas.
Read moreTheir entree of the day comes in different combinations. You can get it with the salad, the soup, or the dessert. Or choose the menu completo and get it all. Order an empanada and share everything and you have a great meal. The cebolla caramelizada won the best vegan empanada award. If red onions aren’t your thing, the espinaca y choclo is a delicious alternative.
Also serves sandwiches, pastas, and chorrillanna (fries with toppings), a traditional Chilean dish mostly associated with Valpo. Has indoor and outdoor seating. The vibe is chill. The servers are nice but the cashier(s), not so. Has a restroom. The place is also a hostel. Worth checking out.
Pros: Generous portions, Serves vegan chorrillanas

Very cosy place, good food, cheap - Edit
I have to say that the old location was much nicer, with a small art gallery inside. Now it’s a smaller place in a busier corner. We had to wait a few minutes to have a table.

When I found this place, I was wandering around Valparaiso and recently had lunch. I couln't try the daily menu but the (small) place was full of happy people enjoying it.
Instead I bought a brownie and an alfajore (chilean biscuit) for later in the afternoon. Delicious.
Pros: vegan options, cheap

Yummy vegan empanadas! - Edit
We had their vegan empanadas and beer - both were delicious. Very fairly priced and soooo yummy! The only reason it’s not getting 4 stars is because we went back a second time and they didn’t have them that day, overall their menu is very inconsistent because they also didn’t have the meal of the day either.

Cons: Inconsistent

Not vegetarian and not really good - Edit
Okay place and friendly staff. But they have tuna on their menu(not so vegetarian...), and sell vegan brownies but without vegan ice cream or anything, which made them really dry. Quite disappointing experience. The menu of the day is nothing special either.

Cons: Nothing special
