Wow - what a place!

Absolutely loved our lunch here. We went for the vegan set menu - food was so carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. Staff really friendly and knowledgeable about all the dishes, giving you a little run down of what you were eating. The restaurant is a little tucked away off the Main Street but very popular, so definitely need to book.

Pros: Amazing food , Great atmosphere , Lovely staff

Cons: Need to book, Quite expensive- but not your average meal!

Would be 5 stars!

Amazing food and lovely restaurant. We chose to stay in Winchester as a stop off point based on the menu for this restaurant and we weren't disappointed!!

We had the vegan taster menu and can honestly say it is the best food we've eaten outside of Japan.

Everything we ate was delicious and the service was excellent - we would go back to Winchester again just to eat here!

Amazing meal!

Great vegan options, lots of them and clearly labelled section. They do meat and fish options too so it is great to go with non vegan family, my partner is a meat eater so this was ideal for us! I had the chefs selection of sushi and the Winchester sushi, both very tasty. The Winchester one is so spicy with the fresh wasabi. I also had vegetable gozas and the aubergine dish, which were so so good. The gozas put Wagamama to shame, so much better. The aubergine dish was delicious and so soft and sweet. Staff are friendly and the restaurant is very classy and clean.

Pros: Veggie section on the menu , High quality food

Vegan Taster Menu

We had the vegan taster menu and it was some of the best vegan food we’ve ever eaten. The smoked miso aubergine was out of this world! The staff were also very attentive. Highly recommended for a special meal out.

Pros: Incredible vegan taster menu

Kyoto Kitchen Winchester

Lovely intimate restaurant. Very friendly and engaging hosts.
Vegan food is gorgeous. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely go back.
My only criticism is the Tofu needs to be properly marinated for longer and the Tofu needs to be pressed for longer so that it is truly crispy.

Cons: Yes £70 for x2 people and a taster course

Beautiful and delicious food, served with good attention to detail. Service is a bit slow but food is worth the wait.

Amazing delicious Japanese food

We've eaten here twice, it's definitely a treat price-wise (ie expensive) but really is amazing and worth it. There are plenty of marked vegan options on the menu and also a vegan set menu for two. Highlights especially recommended - agadashi tofu; another tofu dish with enoki mushrooms; dengaku aubergine; watercress dish; gyoza. To our taste the sushi options are possibly a bit less interesting but maybe that's just our preference, they were really good. The cooking is absolutely fantastic and the flavours are really amazing, the food is so good and the service is friendly and helpful. Interesting saki list, both sakis we tried were great.

Pros: Exceptional unusual food, Lots of vegan options clearly marked, Special treat

Incredible vegan Japanese food

I would give Kyoto Kitchen 5 stars however due to it not being fully vegetarian or vegan that’s not possible. The quality of the food and service is certainly 5 stars. The chef does some incredible stuff with Tofu and vegetables. Every dish is beautiful and like a work of art. They have a vegan set menu now which is fantastic value for money. It is my favourite restaurant.

Pros: Vegan set menu , Knowledgeable chef, Incredible service

Cons: Expensive
