Handling of food In Unhygiene way

Sorry to disappoint those whom had wrote good review for this stall. But personally, today I encounter their most Unhygiene way of handling their food. There's this Vietnam woman staff who is minding the noodle section of the stall. not only she's not wearing any hand gloves while handling my noodles, halfway doing so, she stop and using her same bare hands, to exchange cash with the drinks stall auntie. After which, she came back to cook my noodles again, and did not even bother to wash her hands, she uses it bare again to mingle with those noodles. At that moment, I have this thinking of rejecting that bowl of noodles, which I did not, instead I told myself to calm down, just accept it later and just give her a kind advice to take note of such hygiene issue and not to repeat doing so again next time. But she turn a black face immediately, without showing any sorry about her Unhygiene behaviour, instead turn her back and complain loudly to her colleague about what had happened, and insisted that she is correct. To my biggest surprise, her another colleague whom tries to explain and solve this issue gave me an even more lame explanation. She say even thou she uses her bare hands to touch those noodles, but they will be cooked eventually under hot heat any germs will be killed!
Initatilly I do not have the wish to kick up a fuss over this, but the behaviour these people gave me really piss me off. Not only they show no regert, instead they argue back at their customer and trying to use lame excuses to cover their bad Unhygiene habit of handling food.

So overall to say,
1)for good food, no, they don't serve tasty food. As common as any.
2)For hygiene wise, they lack the knowledge while handling food. One black sheep is enough to tanish all good names.
3)For price, they are on the high side, as a stall in a coffee shop. consumer could easily get cheaper and tasty food else where.
4)customer service, only that Unhygiene dirty lady from vitenam is bad, the rest of the staff are are friendly.

Affordable with many options

had Vegan friendly Laksa, 3 ingredients add on (favourite peanuts and veges), CCF and Chwee kueh for around 10sgd ish. Happy and satisfying meals at affordable price.

Comparing to the past, they have so many more items now, such as steamboat, popiah, rojak, zi char. Used to eat the chicken rice there too (generous portion and yummy).

The KPT is clean and have a lot of fans around 🥰 Nice dining experience 💚

Best vegetarian Laksa!!

The taste of the laksa is impeccable. No other vegetarian laksa can beat this laksa seriously!! Have been a crazy fan of this place since 2008! They used to be cheaper if u dine in ($2) but has since increased its price to $3 which is still cheap! The Kueh pie tee and rojak is also delicious

Pros: Plenty of parking nearby, Other vegan options available!

Cons: Mala and yong taufu is expensive, Messy and mookata now is part of the coffee shop

Love the laksa and affordable

Really miss their meekia with mushrooms as it was my favourite dish since young. But now they change the chef, I couldn't be able to find the similar taste anymore.
There's some changes to the dish but lakes still taste the same.

BEST VEG HOKKIEN MEE (and laksa!!) 🤤

perhaps more fondly known as Kwan Inn Vegetarian Food (the store name has changed!)
TLDR; get the hokkien mee and laksa 🥰

came here with little expectations, and left so pleased! (only ever heard that they sell incredibly yummy laksa and that the lady boss is incredibly grumpy — both of which are true 😂)

we ordered:
1. laksa $3 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
my non-vegan parents were pleased it tastes like the usual laksa! generous portion for $3. comes with plenty of noodles, bean sprouts, and beancurd of 2 textures. only wish they had mock prawns or some extra ingredients of some sort!

2. hokkien mee $5 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
probably my favourite 🤤 this has to be ordered from their second unit (on the right). this is the BEST vegan hokkien mee EVER. (Food In The Woods @ AMK is the 2nd best i’ve tried)
not those watered down, weird-tasting, floury gravy. this is legit. worth the money for real 🤍

3. otah $1 per square
in my opinion this is not otah HAHA
kinda squishy, mala small-medium level spice, and doesn’t quite taste like otah. served cold and it’s just 1 pathetic cold square. ate with with laksa and it wasn’t too bad but personally i feel it’s not worth it.

overall customer service is poor-fair but i mean... the food was excellent. and for this price? i don’t really mind 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pros: economical, large portion, great authentic taste

Cons: not service-oriented

Cheap, cheerful, delicious!

Wow, we are so impressed with this place! For a (massive) plate of rice 4 options, we only paid SGD$4.50. So for two plates of rice 4 options each, it was only $9. Amazing!! There are so many choices to choose from too, and not very oily either. One of our options was the mock pork belly and my husband kept checking it out to make sure it wasn't real pork! The greens and the cabbage dishes are delicious, as was the Thai style tofu, and the fact that there are several choices of different rice is an added bonus. You can also get fried beehoon (rice vermicelli noodles) as an option instead of rice, or even as one of the choices of vegetables. Four thumbs up from us! The curry puffs are also delicious, with a crumbling pastry texture. Yum!

We also tried their charsiew mee and laksa on the 9th August, and they were delicious and very filling. There's also a vegetarian popiah place there now, all connected to the same place, and that was great too. Very large roll for only $1.50. certainly the cheapest popiah we've had so far. - Updated review on 10.08.2020

Veggie hawker stall

This place is great. There’s a stall serving soups, another serving yong tau foo and other dishes made to order, and a third stall serving mixed vegetable rice. Dishes are either vegan or vegetarian - ask and the staff can help.

Established shop, many options

This shop has been around for ages and there's also a more premium dining restaurant from the same owner.

There are many options and most of it is tasty and worth a try. I personally enjoy their bee hoon and laksa. The staff up to the lady bosses are generally friendly and nice.

It could be slightly more affordable considering the location but they have a big name and prices have steadily risen over the years.

Pros: Many options , Well established shop, Good service

Cons: Prices rising

Good Mix of Foods

If you aren't sure what kind of veggie food you want, this place is for you. They have a little bit of everything. Everything being Chinese, Indian and Malay.

It's cheap and not too oily. I've only been here 2 or 3 times, but I haven't had anything that I could say wasn't at least satisfying.

It's a short walk from the yellow exit at Paya Lebar station. If you have a bit of time and are in the area, it's worth a visit.

Pros: Not just economy rice, cheap, easy to get too

Tasty and inexpensive food

Kwan Inn serves tasty noodle soups made to order (curry laksa and mushroom broth), and economy rice. Most of the dishes are vegan by default with no eggs used at all. Some dishes might contain dairy so do check with the staff.

So far I've tried the chicken rice (SGD4), curry laksa (coconut milk based, dairy-free, with bean sprouts, tofu puffs and fried tofu, SGD3) and the noodle soup (mushroom broth, fried tofu skin/yuba, fried tofu, char siu/BBQ pork, bean sprouts, napa cabbage, cha choy/pickled mustard stem and seaweed, SGD4). Everything has been tasty, especially the laksa! The staff are mostly Mandarin-only speaking but a couple also speak English and Bahasa Melayu so communication shouldn't be a problem.

Pros: Plenty of vegan options, Tasty, wholesome food, Very inexpensive

Great food

The whole Food court is vegetarian, there are a lot of dishes to choose from. We loved all veggies we had there and Laksa was also delicious. You can see a lot of locals around you during lunch time. It's definitely worth visiting. And as it is food court the prices will not destroy your wallet - around 3SGD for a full plate.

Pros: delicious food, super good value

wonderful laksa

The laksa here is amazing!!! The soup was thick, creamy and you wouldn't be able to tell it's vegetarian at all. The Chilli was okay, and complemented the soup nicely. It wasn't too spicy, so for those of you who can't take too much spice it should be fine (though please don't take my word for it because I love spicy food) :) They also have mix veg rice at the side so if that's your kinda food, go for it!! The laksa is really nice though!

Veg Mixed Rice

I tried the mixed rice here today, and had brown rice with two vegetables and a spring roll for $4.

The rice is mushy, almost like rice pudding texture, and can be eaten with a fork (because it's all clumped together). You're better off taking the beehoon or white rice.

Dishes are oily and mostly are mostly mocked meat.

Pros: fast service

Cons: Oily and limited dishes

Laksa

No more $2 Laksa, now it is $3.
Use to be their Signature Dish.
Standard has gone down.
Only few ingredients.
Can get Better Laksa for $3-3.50 elsewhere.
Still worth a visit as on their Left is a Stall selling Veggie Yong Tau Fu and on their Right a Stall selling Veggie Nasi Padang.

Pros: Other food Choices, Better & more Seats
