Gathering at Kusanya - Edit
Kusanya Cafe is described as a rustic chic cafe and I'd say that that's true, but that's just part of it. The cafe has an exposed brick gorgeousness to it that creates a sense of warmth from the moment you walk in.
Read moreFrom the baristas who are incredibly friendly, to the space itself, Kusanya is a revelation.
There are lots of vegan beverage options available - from soy lattes to fresh fruit smoothies - many of the food items can be veganized as well. So, if you don't see it on the menu, just ask.
Vegan beverage options include:
All coffee drinks - have yours with soy milk (hold the whip cream if applicable)
Tea
Fresh fruit smoothie
Fresh lemonade (seasonal)
For a delicious vegan breakfast:
Baked Oatmeal - ask for it to be veganized
Toasted bagel with plant-based cream cheese
Vegan lunch options include:
Master Jay panini or grilled Mozz Def sandwich, veganized/customized with plant-based cheeses and deli slices - just ask
A customized toasted bagel sandwich made with plant based deli slices, vegan cheese & vegan mayo
Salads are easily made plant-based by ordering without cheese
Kusanya is a 5 star cafe with a 4 star review, only because Happy Cow reserves 5 star reviews expressly for all-vegan establishments, which I totally understand.
Enjoy! xoxo

Great coffee, great cause, vegan options - Edit
I frequent this non-profit cozy shop. The drinks are fabulous (chai latte is my favorite) and the sandwiches can be made with vegan cheese upon request (the Mozz Def, grilled cheese with daiya, tomato and basil is great). The baked oatmeal with soy milk is a comforting treat!! Best of all, they invest in the local community.
