Delicious food

The food was so tasty. Generous portion sizes. Nice staff.
So many vegan options!
The interior isnt the best but the food makes up for it.
BYOB.

Super

My first time visit to Kuala Lumpur cafe today, very basic little room but incredible food. There is a vegan version of every dish, with the option of tofu or fake meat. All the classic Malaysian curries, I’ll be making my way through them all.

KL cafe

Veganised versions of all the best curries.
The decor and space is rustic/not fancy. Inc electrical socket hanging off the wall where we sat. Spotted the toilet 1 second into entering as the door was wide open.
The group behind were loud which wasn't the restaurant fault. As no music to blur out the other people's chit chat.
It's got about 5 tables in the main area so suggest booking.
Parking tricky and we ended up with a parking fine (our fault but a warning to you)
The restaurant is bring your own booze (if you drink) they sell soft drinks, tea etc.

We would go back

Menu mostly GF as well

Didn't try dessert as we went to heavenly desserts instead straight after.

Best malaysian I've had in the uk

Ok so I'm malaysian and I ordered in bahasa so you already know its good. This place is just so good and I've tried malaysian places in Nottingham, Birmingham and London. The curry was flavourful and it was a good level of spice. The roti canai was flakey and didnt feel like it was store bought because of all the layers. There were a lot of options too.

A Taste of Malaysia

Really enjoyed our takeaway dishes here, which was just a short walk from our hotel. We ordered the vegan chicken satay skewers and tofu sambal for starters and vg beef nasi lemak with rendang and vg chicken nasi lemak with masek merah for our mains, all for collection so we could get a 15% discount. The skewers were absolutely delicious and I loved the texture of the chicken but also the delicious satay sauce. The tofu sambal was also nice but I was expecting a more spicy sauce. Both nasi lemak dishes were so fresh and flavourful with such depth of flavour and had good mock meat textures. The masek merah was really spicy too. A little less oil would be my only con but I would happily return again.

Pros: Tasty food, Inexpensive , Discount for collection

Cons: Serves meat

Delicious, addictive, food - and super spicy.

Delicious, addictive, food - and super spicy. There is a range of vegan and vegetarian options. I need to go again to taste more of the options. The owners were friendly, smiling, and they were making us feel at ease. I'd be comfortable going again.

Pros: Food tastes authentic, Friendly staff, Reliable service

Amazing!

Went with my boyfriend and his family, who are all vegetarian or thereabouts. It was fantastic. The faux-meats were very tasty (particularly the satay chicken), and you can make almost every dish to your taste - they even had a wonderful banana blossom option. Would recommend!

Pros: Lovely staff, Top notch food, BYOB

Cons: Quite small so can be a bit cramped

Excellent food

I've been here twice and been blown away both times! The food is super tasty and most items can be made vegan (the faux meats are delicious!). There isn't much seating inside so I recommend booking, especially if you have more than 1 or 2 in your party.

Pros: Great food, Reasonable prices

Cons: Limited seating

Thank you Kellyna for your review. We are happy you enjoyed dining with us and that you appeciate our selection of vegan options. In terms of seating, we are not grand as you mentioned but can accommodate group of 16 at one long table or 18 if it's split between 2 tables and this seating area is located upstairs. Altogether we are 26-30 seater diner depending on tables layout. We are looking forward to welcoming you again :)

Absolutely amazing

Never had Malaysian food and it was an utterly new experience. Very light, very delicious! Nearly everything on the menu has a vegan ‘meat’ option and a selection of them for each dish! They even have desserts! It’s byob which I enjoyed and cheap for the quality and quantity of food!

Pros: Nearly everything on the menu is or can be vegan, Desserts!! , Absolutely delicious and not expensive

Outstanding flavour and service

This is a really lovely and inexpensive restaurant! You can tell a lot of care has gone into the food.
The vegan options are extensive and the flavour of our food was seriously impressive! You can pick from various different veggie and vegan alternatives to the meat option for each dish.

I recommend the (mock chicken) vegan satay from the starters. For mains the tofu Malaysian curry and the banana blossom curry were fantastic.

We will be back again to try the other meals! Next time we might have room for dessert (hopefully)

Pros: A lot of vegan options, Flavoursome, Excellent service
