Authentic - Edit
Great selection of authentic food from different regions of India. Love to see dosa, thali etc on the menu.
Read moreThe only sad part was that we didn't receive the food at the same time. We were four people, and it took 20 min between the first dish and the last person's dish...
Cons: Long wait time for food

Tasty but spicy! - Edit
We had the masala dosa and vegan thali. Standard portions, but very tasty. The lime pickle is very spicy! Try at your own peril! Nice ambience.

Great Veggie+ South Indian options - Edit
This is one of the two closest South Indian restaurants for Saarlanders. They know how to make excellent south Indian dishes, many of which are vegetarian.

Good Food - Edit
The ambience inside the Restaurant is nice and maintained hygiene. But the only concern is the prices they offer. Quality is good but the quantity doesn't suit with the price.

Mediocre Food - Edit
I ordered Idli as a starter, which came with 3 different sauces, which was okay, but nothing too special.
Read moreThe Szechuan Fried Rice was very bland besides being spicy (which I ordered it to be specifically). But apparently every single dish was at the same amount of heat (without it being ordered or listed as such on the menu). This was okay for me, but it was tough for some of my friends to enjoy or even eat all of their food... My rice was served with a red sauce. But this sauce was just plain and ordinary Ketchup. So the only way to put some flavour into my bland rice was to put in this standard ketchup. That's not how I imagined food in an Indian restaurant.
After all I cannot recommend this restaurant.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, which are labeled as such, Staff was friendly
Cons: Food was bland, Every single dish was at the same amount of heat

Amazing food - Edit
There are so many labled vegan dishes, and many more can be veganaised. The dish was well seasoned and well valanced. The stuff is very friendly and our food arrived quickly, although we were six people.

Better than you think - Edit
Their dough tasted like pizza and they put flour on their bread. Their sauces are amazing and their dosa is light.

Owner just wanna make money, pathetic food! - Edit
Pros: Pure Vegetarian
Read moreCons:
1. Taste (0/5): Anything that you order tastes pathetic. I am an Indian, and I have never had Indian food with such bad flavour. Its a crime to call it South Indian food(even food).
2. Quality (0/5): We ordered dosas and 2/3 chutneys were spoiled.
3. Quantity (0/5): Please only expect not more than 1 tsp on each chutneys and 3 spoons of sambar. The sambar bowl so small that you cannot dunk the spoon. (Anyway, its diffIcult to finish with such less quantity because the food tastes horrible).
4. Value for money(1/5): The price is comparable to other vegan/vegetarian restaurants(Indian). But again, the food tastes so bad that I would choose to fast or give the same money to the needy.
5. Ambience(2/5): Neat, tidy, dark and dull.

Below average - Edit
I am writing this feedback while waiting over for 30 minutes for my food in Krishna Vilas itself.
Read moreThis is my one of many visits but I have noticed that from last couple of visits the customer service has gone lowest of low. So frustrating and unbearable that even in non peak time around 16hr to 17hr. The only 2 female Waiter are playing hide n seek and avoid any eye contact at all cost. No one seems responsible to be on floor. It’s customer fault that he has decided to come and pay for the food that should’ve serve in a reasonable time.
Food is ok that’s why even after bad service we come back and recommend to our white friends and colleagues But I surrender myself and take a oath that I will not visit Krishna Vilas again.
Apart from food I would like to point out that since staff disappears from floor and no follow up routine. I would suggest that Krishna Vilas owner should start serving proper quantity for their chutney’s and sambar since we’re paying for it and customer will not get furious in the middle of meal. Kindly stop using infant size bowl for sambar. It’s way to small for an adult to have dosa or idli with it.
Order was placed all together even after have to wait for each item even drinks came after reminded to staff. I felt like being a Indian restaurant has taken Indians for granted. Many of the customers during my time seems agitated as well and some went to counter to order for themselves.
I hope my feedback will be wake up call for Krishna Vilas owner and drastically improve customer service, should not stay ignorant. They will be losing customer to other Indian restaurant in Luxembourg.

Unfortunately I didn't get to try the food - Edit
The waiter unfortunately didn't understand veganism. I wanted a dish that according to the menu could be adapted to be vegan, but he kept insisting that everything on the entire menu including the yoghurt, paneer and butter ghee was all vegan anyway so no adaptations were needed.
Read moreOn reflection I should probably have switched to a dish that was labelled vegan, but I got irritated and had lost faith in the place, and left.
While the restaurant was clean and modern, I didn't like the area it was in. I had planned to go for a drink somewhere beforehand but there were no females in sight, men who made a clicking noise when I passed, and sex show signs.
I've given it 2 stars because the pics really did look delicious and I think I just got the wrong waiter on a bad day.

First South Indian restaurant in Luxembourg - Edit
I like the food at Krishna Vilas. Half of their menu is either vegan or can be made vegan. It is quite difficult to decide what to eat. The food is tasty and not too expensive. I had a starter (Manchurian Gobi) and a main (Mysore Masala Dosa) and left fully satified. The staff is also very kind and can adwise you on vegan dishes. Moreover you can find dishes here that you cannot find in any other Indian restaurant in Luxembourg.

Overrated - Edit
I have tried the South Indian Thali and their Mysore Masala Dosa, which I have both enjoyed. However, the rice coming with the thali was oversalted and the dosa alone did not appease my hunger. Although they know what vegan is and can serve many dishes in a vegan variant, they make no effort to offer vegan options of their drinks, such as chai tea or mango lassi, and of their their desserts. If you fancy something like those, I strongly recommend to check out Nirvana Cafe just a few hundred meters away. On my last visit, it was also cold inside the restaurant. To sum up, as my both first visits here were not too satisfying, I will stay away for a while in hope that they improve.

Love the food here!!
Read moreBeen here for almost 7-8 times since it was opened. Oh boy, love the fresh food, the thalis, the dosas and also the North Indian dishes like Gobi 65, Baigan barta etc. Wait time is about 20-25 minutes for most dishes as everything is freshly made. Many vegan options available if we inform the waiter about our preferences. Not many vegan desserts are available but I do not have a sweet tooth so I am fine with that.

There are many options however no vegan naan or desert. The curries we tried were not very flavorful and a few of our friends stomachs were bad afterwards. The service was awful but as they just opened I have not taken this into account for this review.
