Lovely - Edit
To my recollection, I had never had Ukrainian food before and I love trying new foods!
Read moreI had the kvas (tastes like alcohol-free beer), borsch, and sour cherry varenyky. The borsch was one of the most flavorful soups I’ve ever had.
My only complaint: None of the dishes are automatically vegan, so although they are marked, you must specify to your server you want them prepared vegan. When I ordered the dessert, my server was insistent about bringing the crème on the side “just in case” which I think was his way of saying it wasn’t worth eating without the crème (I concur - they were good but I probably wouldn’t get them again dry). I really wish my server had just listened to me - or better yet, could they develop a vegan version of the crème so they don’t feel the need to bring me dairy against my wishes?
Pros: Delicious drinks (we ordered four), Yummy food, Ukrainian servers and music
Cons: Server ignored my request, Dim lighting

Delicious! - Edit
I tried the cabbage rolls as well as the potato & dill vareniky and both were really, really good! I love how many options they have, I will definitely be back to try more!

Elevated Ukrainian fine dining - Edit
I’ve been a regular at the other Kozak locations and this one is definitely next level. They have a separate takeout side that is more like their other locations with more of a deli type vibe and little grocery section, and the the other entrance to the sit down dining experience is very swanky. The plating, and the bar gives it a very fine dining feel. All the vegan options are very tasty as always. I recommend trying the pierogies deep fried which the other locations don’t offer

Great food, very much recommended - Edit
The food was great and vegan was clearly marked on the menu. Authentic Ukrainian food is a rare but great opportunity I can definitely recommend. Staff was amazing as well. Lots of new things to try. 3 course meal with drink for 28 Can $

Rare to eat Ⓥ Ukrainian! - Edit
The vegan options are great and the ambience is nice. There’s a full bar and even sober cocktails. Vegan food is well-labeled and it’s traditional Ukrainian which is one of my favorite cuisines! As you know, Ukrainian restaurants aren’t abundant and then they typically don’t cater to vegans. What a gem Kozak is - I’d have given five stars except my rule about serving meet. It is spectacular!
