Depressing atmosphere - Edit
The service here was dead as the atmosphere “depressing” the only words I got from our waitress is that we have to pay an automatic 10 percent service charge and oh my they did not deserve it one bit. My partner and I were very hungry so we decided to stay just to eat. The menu at first impressions is appealing and we decided to get two dishes one of them being the eggplant curry and the other coconut millet. Not cheap but not expensive and cheaper then the touristic restaurants around this area. Food came out and weren’t really impressed in portion size. And to be honest a little confusing looking and we didn’t even get any descriptions or what dishes is what, luckily my partner and I were sharing.. taste hmmm really confusing, bland and by far the worst curry we have had in Sri Lanka, not satisfying and had a lot better curries in Srilanka in our month traveling here PS the eggplant curry tasted a bit fishy!! overall we ate coz we were hungry and couldn’t wait to get out and pay won’t be returning.

Painfully lethargic service. Disappointing. - Edit
Probably one of the most lethargic, slow and unenthusiastic levels of services that I can remember. Have been used to a smile and some energy in Sri Lanka, when enerting and ordering in a restraunt. This was a complete turnaround and I expect better from a place that appears to be of high standards. The service was painfully slow and no smiles or enthusiasm at all. Which was made even more annoying by the fact that there is a 10% service charge added in without choice. Ironic really, that the only place I wouldnt have left a tip, I had no choice. Typical. Now I feel bad for the great service that I have had in other places and probably not tipped enough. Maybe that's why they are like that in this place, because they get thier tip no matter how they are. The music was also enough to depress a clown!. Same instrumental song, repeated over and over. The food was okay for the most part. Some unusual dishes and options that you dont often see. Aso clearly labelled vegan options. Not bad prices in comparison to other places. Especially when the location is within an upscale resort/hotel. In summary, they either need to get new wait staff, or give them a serious kick up the [censored]. We couldn't wait to get the bill and leave, as to how depressing the atmosphere was.

So affordable, accepts credit cards, interesting dishes - Edit
Place is now renamed Koththamali by Rohan and the prices are super low (you do have to pay 20% taxes and service charges on top, but it’s still really inexpensive compared to everywhere else in this area). Accepts credit card and they brought me a complementary cup of soup. Seems like they’re revamping the menu and upping customer care - I filled out a feedback form for them and there was staff going around to each table checking on how everyone was doing.

11 minutes to get bill - Edit
Had the eggplant curry with red rice. It was quite good but have had a lot better. Also had lime juice. So 2 items in virtually empty restaurant. Bill took 11 minutes to come after I had to walk over and ask for it. Lots of staff around but busy chatting. If the service here was any slower it would be stationary.

Amazing - Edit
Avoid walking up and down the street in search of something vegetarian (like we did) and head straight here - you won't be disappointed! Not only was the food and service amazing, the restaurant is really relaxed and ambient without the noise of the main road. We plan to go back on our last night.

I had the manioc Pittu and I loved it. It was flavorful and subtle at the same time.
Staff is helpful and sweet. The atmosphere is relaxing.

Best place in town for vegans! Really impressed with our meal, was tasty and filling. We felt nourished rather than bloated and full. Detailed menu with clearly defined vegan options (even desserts). Well priced for how fancy it looks and feels. Good service. Really nice place!

Vegan and vegetarian dishes. We stayed two days in Negombo and ate there three times. Everything we tried was delicious! I highly recommend this place!

Good vegan selection, with items clearly marked. The restaurant is large and has a lovely ambience. The salads are yummy (but seem heated up which was a little strange to me). The eggplant curry and the asparagus soup were fabulous. My dining companion had the 6 veg curry and really enjoyed it. There were tons of mosquitos both times we went here so that was a little off-putting as we were bitten the entire meal. Staff do put mosquito coils about but it did not seem to make any difference. Note, there is 17% tax and 10% service charge added so final bill is almost 30% more which is quite hefty.

So tasty! I had the six veg curry and it was 700LKR. There was then service on top. Very posh and amazing service for the price! The curries were so so amazing. I love the jackfruit one and butternut squash. If I wasn’t leaving tomorrow, I would be back, for definite!

Loved the food and service was exceptional. Planning to go back while we are still on Negombo. Highly recommend the mushroom and sweet potato fritters. Considering the service and atmosphere this is a very inexpensive restaurant

I came in low season and was the only guest but the staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was great, although the portions were small due to the fact that it’s a place where you’re expected to have several courses. Very nice place with a relaxing pool in the back. A little pricey but you pay for the luxury, I suppose.

Delicious food, fantastic prices - Edit
Restaurant is attached to a hotel on the main road. Once inside, the decor and warmth of the place, along with the great service invite you completely. The food was fantastic mostly, but the desert lacked moisture and taste. Otherwise a complete culinary success.

Went here for dinner with my boyfriend last night. The menu clearly labels which are vegan as apposed to vegetarian. There is a range of western and Sri Lankan foods at very reasonable prices. Desserts are Sri Lankan with many vegan options.

Well labeled vegan options in menu. Meat and fish free vegetarian and vegan reaturant. good selection of starters and soups. Could do with a vegan burger on menu but a very good srilankan currry that is cleaely labeled. Some vegan silankan deserts on menu too. Clean modern resturant with great veiw of pool and gardens.
