Vegan tteokbokki!

I've always wanted to try tteokbokki but couldn't find a vegan version until now. It was delicious!

One tip I must share is to be careful that you go into the correct Tofu House! There are several in the area. At first, we saw a Tofu House right next to the parking lot so we went in. I was confused to see no tteokbokki on the menu, and I found it strange when the waitress said that all the soups are made with bone broth and that the only way to veganize them would be to make them in water. Then when I took a closer look at the menu I saw it said Kong Family Tofu House 😂 Fortunately we caught our mistake before ordering and the Korean Tofu House was just down the street.

The Korean Tofu House was wonderful! They had free unlimited refill toasted rice tea which was super warm and comforting. We got the tteokbokki and hot pot bibimbap. Our food came with free banchan, and they ensured they were vegan since we specified earlier. The banchan included kimchi, potato, bean sprouts, and vegetable pancake. I especially loved the vegetable pancake!

The tteokbokki was very tasty, but also super spicy! It was probably the spiciest dish I have willingly eaten 😂 If I come here again I'd def ask to take the spiciness down a notch, which is really saying something since I have a high spice tolerance haha. I still enjoyed the dish though! I especially liked how there was tofu mixed in. I also tried the bibimbap. The rice was super high-quality with a nice toasted flavor.

Overall, I would definitely recommend! Just be sure that you go into the right Tofu House haha. And make sure to specify that you'd like all your dishes to be vegan. Afterwards, I'd recommend going to Boba Up next door for dessert!
