Really Good and Owner is Very Proud of Vegan Options - Edit
Wasn’t expecting much before entering, and was planning on buying just a falafel pita. However, the after talking to the owner for a bit, it seemed he was really proud of his vegan options and for my table of 5 offered to do a primarily vegan tasting menu.
Read moreIncluded in this spread was falafel, pita (with refills), hummus, baba ghanoush, roasted eggplant salad, mushroom shawarma, mejadra, and a variety of salads. The eggplant salad and mejadra were not on the menu (that I could find) so I think it was included specially for this order. All of it was DELICIOUS, with my favorites being the eggplant salad and mushroom shawarma.
The staff were extremely accommodating and helpful, which is why we were able to arrange this seemingly spontaneous spread of vegan items.
Pros: Really nice staff, Delicious
Cons: Pricy

Good food and nice presentation - Edit
We had a very pleasant lunch and greatly appreciated the clearly marked vegan options. Nicely presented food and tasty. Decently sized portions with a good portion of ingredients locally sourced.

Fresh & tasty - Edit
We had a great lunch here. We ordered a falafel bowl, eggplant pita, babaganouj bowl & a spinach boreka. We loved it all although I thought the tomato/cucumber salad that came with the falafel bowl was a little bland. The pita bread was fluffy perfection. They pour olive oil over the babaganouj which wasn’t necessary & I would ask them not to next time I’m back. They also may have added extra oil to the eggplant pita but I’m not sure. It was definitely on the drippy, oily side but it was still really good.
Read moreIt wasn’t clear to me how to tip. You order at the counter & the iPad gives you tipping options for 18%, 20% or 30% (or Other) which seems high for counter service, but then they bring the food to you and bus your table.
We definitely enjoyed our meal & will come back next time we’re in Knoxville & now I know to ask them not to add extra oil.

Absolute perfection - Edit
We had the mezze meal for 2, and there was soooo much food. Each dish looked beautiful. Everything tasted amazing! Best babaganoush I’ve ever had! Soft, fluffy pita bread. Plentiful, flavorful, and fresh falafel. We would be broke if there was a KoPita near us even though it was affordable. We got our money’s worth. The setting does feel like a hotel restaurant, but it has Turkish touches. The staff was all kind and helpful. It was a great experience!

BEST VEGAN FOOD IN KNOXVILLE - Edit
Kopita has won numerous local and regional and national awards for their vegan food. Their food is flavorful and full of spice. My favorite items are the beet salad, falafel bowl, babaganosh, & Israeli salad. There is not a single item I’ve tried on their menu that hasn’t tasted heavenly. 11/10 recommend

Incredibly seasoned food! - Edit
Wow! The food scene in Knoxville does not disappoint! Lunch today was fantastic! The vegan shawarma here was absolutely incredible! The food is so well seasoned the flavors just seem to really pack a punch, but in a great way! This place has clearly labeled menus so plant based and non plant based eaters have no problem diving in and figuring out what they want. If you’re ever in Knoxville check them out on the mezzanine level in the Embassy Suites downtown.

Excellent Vegan Schwarma! - Edit
Get it! The seasoning was amazing. Also, the owner is a lovely fellow, and told me that they use a separate fryer for all of thieir flafel and such, if you’re concerned about that.

Best meal I have had in a long time - Edit
I have only been a vegan for about two months and certainly have plenty of pre-vegan meals. For reference, I also grew up in New York City and was around good ethnic food all off the time. I was there with non vegans and we all thoroughly enjoyed the quality and price

Tasty vegan schwarma - Edit
Got a falafel pita and a schwarma pita. Both good. The schwarma was heavily spiced but, weirdly, cold. Consistent with other falafel sandwiches, good but not exceptional. Comes with lots of pickles! Cute inside, too.

Best Baba Ghannouj Ever! - Edit
I cannot rave enough about this place! They did have separate vegan and meat store-fronts for a while, but it was unsustainable, unfortunately. That said, the vegan options are still there, and still amazingly tasty. The pitas and baba ghannouj are enough to keep me coming back (seriously, I pick some up whenever I am in the area), but the cauliflower bowl, the israeli salad, the veggie shwarma -- all so good. We showed up over Thanksgiving weekend with a large crew and let the chef just make whatever he wanted and we were not disappointed, even though I can't name half of what was put in front of me. Just let them know you're ordering vegan, and they will make sure you are happy. Love this place!!

Great experience - Edit
The chef was welcoming and enthusiastic, he took care of us by letting us try a little dish of everything. The food was clean and fresh. My favorites were the pita bread, carrots, green beans, and potato salad (They are not as basic as they sound, all made with a Greek twist) For dessert, the Havla was light and refreshing. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Incredible - Edit
If you are in the Knoxville area, KoPita is a must! Ingredients are super fresh and the staff is very knowledgeable of the menu should you have questions or need recommendations. There are additional items not pictured on the menu, such as shawarma and sides to make your own mezze salad. The shawarma pita was out of this world. It came with a tahini sauce, sauerkraut, cucumber, and pickles that enhanced the flavor even more.

Great atmosphere, although the acoustics meant I had to yell to be heard. Food was OK, but expensive. Service was great. In the tourist area so nice to walk around. But parking is a bit of a challenge.

Currently the only vegan restaurant in Knoxville (Feb 2021). Sanctuary Vegan Cafe closed May 2020. They do still have a sanctuary for farm animals so check them out.
Read moreBe aware there are two restaurants named 'KoPita' one is named 'KoPita Meat' and the other 'KoPita Vegan'
Per KoPita Vegan's website you can order via Door Dash.
Per their FB page anyone in uniform can get 50% off of any order cary out or dine in until April 2021.
We called prior to our arrival to confirm curbside pickup. The staff was friendly and seemed happy to offer curbside. The staff did mention that during covid they don't strictly follow their hours and close early if they are not busy by about an hour. If you are planning on ordering near the end of their business hours, plan to call ahead.
$12 Falafel Bowl: Everything was very fresh and delicious. The portions were very filling. I'd have preferred the Falafel to not be so hard and the tomatoes were not quite ripe, but it was Feb so they were out of season. Overall a delicious meal.
$10 Falafel Pita: Really enjoyed this. I really liked the saurkraut.
$5 Side of Hummus: creamy and good. I agree with another reviewer that I'd ask to not have the extra oil on top. It was good hummus but I did find it to have too much tahini for my taste. This does not come with pita.
$1.25 One Pita for the side of hummus. The pita was good, we were surprised we had to order it separately for the side if hummus.
The restaurant was small but cute. The area was busy and parking wasn't easy to come by.
Parking: there are street parking spots with meters in front of the KoPita Meat restaurant, right next to KoPita Vegan.
Pros: Curbside pickup
Cons: Parking

Stellar Middle Eastern Cuisine - Edit
This is the first time I’ve visited and I wish I had went sooner! I had the falafel and it was incredible. The pita, sauerkraut, tahini, and spices mixed perfectly with the falafel to create the perfect meal. The staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant itself is very relaxed with a modern, farmhouse like vibe. It is near the Tennessee Theatre and a few blocks from Market Square. I cannot wait for my next trip there!

I have a high bar for middle eastern food. This is the real deal. I had the baba ghanoush — it was delicious, as were all the sides. The pita it came with was so fluffy and delicious. I only wish I’d been able to try the falafel and the cauliflower dish too.

Great! Beware of Kopita Meat sister restaurant - Edit
I don’t think you can find better, fresher, lighter, crispier falafel anywhere. They give you enough tahini (I like a lot), and a big bowl of vegetables to go with the falafel bowl. At first I went to the sister restaurant and wondered why “Meat” was in its title, thinking it was ironic or faux meat, then realized my error in time

Best Falafel I’ve ever had! - Edit
Seriously, it’s hands down my favorite falafel. The falafel was made fresh, and served warm on a bed of vegetables. The seasoning was perfect. I had a side of eggplant which was also incredible. Warm tea was available on the house.
