Really nice! - Edit
We had 2 dishes which we shared, they were both really good. It was nice to have a place that serves something else than only a vegan burger 😀.

A lot of vegan options - Edit
I was surprised to find a place in Istria that had so many vegan options on the menu. I tried the seitan steak and it was delicious. I'm very impressed and hope they will continue with this offering.

Amazing place! - Edit
Would give five stars if it were possible - the food was very tasty and I was surprised by how many vegan options they had. The staff was warm and hospitable, we felt very much at home. Prices were also good. A great place to visit if you're around, worth driving to even if it's not exactly along your route.

Lovely and amazing - Edit
I'd rate 5 stars if I could but due to happy cow policy of not giving 5 stars to places that aren't 100% vegan, I have to rate 4 stars.
Read moreWe were so pleased to find a restaurant that has vegan options in Istria. The staff are so lovely, friendly and nice, the service is really excellent. The food is amazing, very tasty, portions are more than enough to satiate. I was very surprised to see vegan dessert options and enjoyed the crepes so much, the frozen berries go amazingly with the chocolate.
All in all, can't wait to visit again!
Pros: excellent food, friendly staff, great value

Traditional Istrian food, vegetarian owner - Edit
I'd give 5 stars if I could, but happy cow only lets me give 4, as the place is not pure veg yet.
Read moreKonoba Bani is exactly the place I was looking for!! I don't like to visit pure vegan places when I travel, as I like to know more about the traditional cuisine. This is challenging in Croatia... I am so happy we found Konoba Bani in the end.
The owner, Sanda, has been vegetarian for 27 years. She took over the restaurant from her parents, and now she tries to combine the traditional Croatian dishes with vegetarian&vegan Istrian cuisine. And they do it really well! My husband, who is a chef himself, also loved every dish. Homemade pasta, simple comfort food with a harmonic taste.
Sanda said they would have daily changing veggie dishes as well, as her family is also vegetarian. You might want to let them know in advance, so you have a few options more.
The staff understands about different diets, not much explanation was needed from our side, they know what to ask.
We felt soooo welcome, it was a pleasure. They were genuinely kind without being over the top, if you know what I mean. We couldn't have chosen a better place for our wedding anniversary.

Traditional and vegan - Edit
The food is very good and the prices are reasonable. The stuff is always nice and helpful and the owner is vegetarian so it's easy to order vegan food (even the one that is not currently on the menu). It's very nice to have such a restaurant in the central Istria. The ambient is also very appealing. It's a great place for trying a vegan twist on the traditional istrian kitchen😄

Delicious local food - Edit
It is a mixed restaurant, but it has many vegan options! We had soup, traditional pasta plejskance, tofu and pancakes, all was absolutely delicious. The place is spacious and the staff very friendly and hospitable. The prices are very good. Definitely worth to stop by if passing Istrian Peninsula.
