Authentic South Indian Food

Wanted to go to a similar named restaurant but ended up here somehow - our fault. We realized this later. But turned to be more than OK.

Had a Masala Dosa Combo which came with a Idli and a Medu Wada. The dosa was good, could have been more crispier. The masala inside was very good. The Chutneys - tomato onion, coconut and the other coriander, peanuts and channa were very good. Quite filling.

Rawa Masala Dosa and Medu Wada combo - The Rawa masala perfect. The masala inside, and chutneys again very good.

The inside is very clean. The service is good.

The filter coffees - good. Wished they were a bit hotter in temperature.

Good options for mock meat dishes, but couldn’t try them as we were there for breakfast.

Pros: All vegetarian , So many default vegan options

Tasty and authentic

We came to this branch as the queue for the sister restaurant around the corner was crazy, but the food here is good! We got a family size dosa which was massive but delicious and some chaat dishes like pani puri and masala puri. The waiter told us their special of the week was vegetable balls which we tried but found them underwhelming, also they were served with mayonnaise even though we had specified vegan so double check dishes just in case. Pretty affordable for decent quality foods and central location in Little India.

Good Thali

I had the South Indian Thali set without the milk contained stuff.
Big portion I struggled to finish it 😄
Tasty, nicely spicy.
Would go again

Classic Indian Veg Hotel

Love the food served at Komala's Veg - yes, it's somewhat costly compared to normal prices but worth every bit of it.

Pros: Many options

Not bad at all, however I think there's better options around.

I'll definitely be back here!

Classic

Feels neither like a chain or like fast food. It's just classic Indian food.

Pros: Price

Cons: Staff not very attentive

Indian fast food you can count on

First let me say how many times I've fought with different staff in different Komala's to find out what is fried in ghee vs oil. In the main branch they can answer these questions.
Location: near Bugis train stop. From here Go SW on Victoria street to Rochor Rd, take R (NW) here; take R (N) on Jln Besar; take L (W) on Dunlop and quick R (N) on Jln Besar; L (W) on Dickson.
Hrs: Sat-Sun 8:30AM -10:45 PM; Mo-Fr 9AM-10:30 PM
Dining area: ample seating
Food: burger good, fries good with Desi seasoning, puri great, chicken korma pretty awesome, pretty much everything is good

Pros: millions of these across Singapore

Cons: not everything vegan

The History of Komala Vila start from 1947 ...

This is one of the oldest Indian Vegetarian Restaurants in Singapore and the history start from 1947 ... and still standing strong ...

Personally, I like to go to Komala Vila for a different dining experience in a more than 60 years old eatery. To feel the BUZZ of the Indian Vegetarian eatery and the UNIQUE VIBE! And to get some of the Indian sweets and savouries (from Komala) which is just besides the eatery.

Like the Cone Dosai ($3.20), enjoy eating it with hand! Dipping it in the sauces and condiments provide (free flow) and then into the mouth ... Yummy .... Happiness can be so simple ..

Pros: Heritage Food
