Little vegan restaurant and deli in Ise, home to Japan's Shinto shrine. Menu available in Japanese and English. Offers a Japanese vegan lunch set that includes a main, tea and dessert. It's also a small shop selling soy products, sauces, etc. Kitchen stops at 2pm. May be difficult to find. Directions: Ujiyamada station is the closest stop on the Kintetsu line (not JR). As you head out of the station you go down the street to the right (look for the signs for "the most famous restaurant in japan") and keep going down that road, you should cross the rail way lines, and will see the restaurant soon after that, under a bridge on your left. Best to show the address to someone at the station and ask them to point you in the right direction. Open Mon-Tue 10:30am-4:30pm, Thu-Sun 10:30am-4:30pm. Closed Wed and public holidays.

Great Traditional Japanese Experience - Edit
Truly amazing traditional Japanese vegan experience. We were served the days lunch special and it came with many small side dishes. Very healthy food as well. Extremely nice staff.

Fantastic Cozy Vegan Japanese Shop - Edit
My partner and I searched for a vegetarian food place and found this wonderful little shop a ways off the main stretch of shopping.
Read moreThe shop is unassuming but respectable, traditional, cozy and very comfortable. Even the restroom was cozy and comfortable. We are from out of town but the owner and other patrons were very kind to us.
We each got the meal of the day for lunch and it was so delicious and felt nutritious too. There was no English menu so we used Google Translate when needed.
It would be great to return here at some point.
Pros: Comfortable , Delicious , Kind service

The meal offerings aren't impressive, but in terms of organic/vegan shopping, it works! Come here for various cooking needs and inspiration for animal product alternatives

Cozy lunch place and shop - Edit
The atmospere and service are great, and it is always nice to experience a japanese style meal set, although the food was not the tastiest i’ve had. Still, it is a great option in Ise and offers a lot of vegan products to take home in the shop section.

Wonderful place, wonderful food - Edit
Now this is what you want from a Japanese vegan restaurant. We got the teishoku menu at lunch for about 1350 yen, and I was hungry so added a larger portion of rice and dishes for about 300 more. Was left very satisfied, and both with and without the extra helping seemed good value. Every item was delicious, especially the kuruma-fu katsu. Didn't have a separate desert because we were so full but they looked delicious. The space itself is extremely cute and there is an impressive variety of dry foods and other vegan products available to take home. Oh and the Japanese owner is herself a vegan. You must visit and support this place if in town!

Beautiful place - Edit
This is one of those Japanese gems: hearty, Japanese-style vegetarian food with lots of whole grains, local vegetables, and traditional preparations made vegan. Better yet, it's housed in an old-style wooden house. Incredibly charming and a great deal for the teishoku meal - 1080 gets you the daily special which has a whole tray full of delights.
