Delicious but exxy-kaya - Edit
I love the gobo chips here, it's got a lovely thick crispy batter. I've yet to see it served anywhere else in Melbourne so have to come here to get it.
Read moreThe chikn sushi roll is also delicious, but at $25.80 for 8 small pieces, and the fact that it's a dollar MORE than the sushi roll that has 3 types of dead sea animals in it...really annoys me.
The edamame is usually nicely grilled, but this time it was overcooked and therefor a bit mushy.
I appreciate the quite extensive vegan menu, which I have tried almost all of over the years.
Pros: gobo chips, chikn sushi roll, Friendly service
Cons: expensive

Unassuming Traditional Izakaya - Delicious! - Edit
So glad we stumbled upon this gem!
Read moreHigh recommend you just order a whole bunch of sides and treat yourself. The vegan fried chicken and vegan lover sushi are particularly amazing but actually it's all pretty darned delicious, and your Omni friends won't be disappointed either.
Lovely staff, some vegan wines (though at the time we had to Google to check) and just generally a really great atmosphere.
High recommend!!
Pros: Stacks of vegan options, Really tasty food, Great atmosphere
Cons: A little expensive (but worth it in quality), The vegan curry was a little underwhelming , But only compared to how great everything else was

Veggie @sushi” is fabulous - Edit
This place gets so busy with takeaway, so you can usually get a seat. The food is excellent. Good, honest home style Japanese cooking. Plenty of options for vegetarians/vegans/pescatarians

Not just sushi - Edit
We tried this place as they had a 20% off special on lunchtime bookings which was not surprising as it was very quiet. The lone waiter was friendly and helpful. We shared a miso hot pot, gyozu dumplings and vegan chicken sushi along with a small (300ml) serving of sake. Everything is served in traditional Japanese style and it gave us a chance to test drive for a holiday in Japan !
Read moreThe food was good but often difficult to handle - especially the glass noodles in the hot pot. It ended up being quite messy...
A rare chance to have vegan Japanese other than food court style sushi.
Pros: Traditional Japanese but vegan, Friendly service
