early bird (only) catches the udon noodle - Edit
I arrived about 20 minutes after they opened to stock up on Tempura for a longer train journey. Unfortunately, no food had been prepared at that time, so there was only a single vegan choice (udon soup, which was okay). The ordering process is a bit confusing and the staff seemed annoyed that I was there at all.

Clearly marked vegan options, generous portions - Edit
Vegan section on the menu is easy to find, and has a good amount of choice. I had pumpkin cakes with noodles, and my husband had tofu curry with rice, both of which were nice!

Separate vegan menu available! - Edit
Stumbled upon this restaurant and was happy to see the vegan options including tofu udon, wakame udon, pumpkin katsu and more. The tofu udon was quite tasty and the service was pretty fast.

Delicious and unexpected finding - Edit
They have a lot of vegan options! I was confused at first by the label, as there is only a V for vegan, but we asked staff and all the dishes labelled with a V are vegan not only vegetarian. Very impressed by this.
Read moreThey have sweet potato, eggplant tempura, veg mix tempura, pumpkin tempura, gyozas, and some other hot meals that I've not tried.
Pros: Helpful staff, Many options, Alright price

Good takeaway options - Edit
I've not yet tried the noodle bar as I didn't realise they have a vegan menu, but the takeaway chilled items include several vegan items such as pumpkin katsu salad, inari seaweed pockets, tempura vegetable rice sandwich and katsu pumpkin wrap, as well as onigiri and edamame beans. I've pretty much become obsessed with the inari pockets (thin, sweetly seasoned tofu pockets stuffed with sushi rice and topped with seaweed) and they're a great pretty healthy (I think?) snack on the go or as part of a meal.
Read moreThe vegan items are clearly labelled but make sure what you pick up has the right label as I do find people dump the meat wraps in the vegan section (boxes are individually labelled and in clear packaging so you can tell when it's wrong).

Great for a quick bite to eat - Edit
Typical busy train station eatery. Food was ready very quickly, quality was reasonable if my outstanding.
Read moreWouldn’t recommend the tempura battered veg though, it was just too greasy.
Reasonable portion sizes and prices not too exorbitant for the location.
A great place to grab a quick bite between trains.

Katsu Express - Edit
Nice simple order system in place here with lots of affordable vegan options. From the touch screen you place your order, receive a ticket and wait to be called for collection. I ordered the pumpkin katsu curry with udon noodles, which was new to the menu and it was absolutely delicious with great spicing and depth of flavour. The pumpkin was excellent too. It can get very busy but takeaway is an option if you prefer.

Great station option - Edit
Appreciated the vegan section on the digital menu although the photos varied a bit from the actual presentation. Really good katsu curry sauce with a perfect clingy texture for the sticky rice which was also cooked just right. The tofu was served dry on top rather than mixed in. Gyoza came well fried on pleasingly al dente udon noodles in fairly scant broth with delicious chilli sauce.
Read morePortion sizes aren't huge - only 4 gyoza - but pricing is fair for the location and quality.
Pros: Nice bowls!
