Foodie Restaurant Impersonating as a Bar - Edit
My first visit to KINDRED Bar and restaurant exceeded expectations. For brunch I enjoyed a delicious sandwich called, The Golden Ark. This sausage, egg and neon cheese on a freshly baked bread is the best breakfast sandwich that I have ever had. It was flavorful with just the right amount of spice (probably the aioli sauce). I would have never thought of adding pickles to a breakfast sandwich but it really helped. Vegans and non-vegans alike would be impressed.
Read moreThe cannoli is a crispy, tasty shell with a delicate cream filling that was not overpowered by sugar. The best I’ve ever tasted.
I highly recommend this place as a bar or a restaurant. No wonder they were San Diego Magazine’s restaurant of the year. #Veganuary

Creative and cool - Edit
Decor and staff were awesome, but the food is still the star. Options you just don't see anywhere else. NOTE: popular date spot with cute 2-top tables but DO NOT SIT THERE ALONE as you will feel like a 3rd wheel since they are so close together. Chose the bar.

Never disappoints - Edit
This is the second time I’ve visited this spot in the past two years and it never disappoints. The atmosphere, the food, the drinks! The music and the black bathrooms! I had the chimichurri kebabs and carbonara - absolutely banging!

Perfect vibes, long wait - Edit
I absolutely adore the staff here, the wait was a bit long however. If you're coming for a chill brunch it shouldn't matter, unfortunately we had somewhere to be.
Read moreThe food is yummy and creative, albeit a bit more on the pricier side. For the congee I was hoping for more toppings.

Closes Earlier than Advertised - Edit
I arrived at 9:30 pm but they told me the kitchen was closed, hours said until 10pm. Bartender didn't seem to care and wasn't apologetic, and the whole kitchen crew was drinking beers at the bar.

Very good - Edit
Interesting menu and just a cool place overall. We were two and ordered some dishes to share. Everything was delicious. The portions are on the smaller side, so you can easily order more than one dish per person.

Great Food Experience - Edit
Everything in the restaurant was unique-from the menu to the bill being presented in a cool book. Wife had the warlock which was very scrumptious. My sone and I had the pancakes which had whip cream, bananas, and a few other things making it very unique. Absolutely loved it and would go back for sure!

amazing late night vegan spot - Edit
the kefta and yuba skewers were amazing, as were the cocktails!! charred remains were an awesome way to get some greens in and the brown butter cookies with cereal milk were immaculate. Its usually hard to find vegan options late at night at all so this was above and beyond!

Lives up to the hype! - Edit
The whole menu was unique and fun and the only problem was deciding what to choose! The skewers had a great texture and sauce, the burger had a unique crunch and the toasted cheese was 10/10. The cheesecake was not quite as good as the rest of the meal but still very delicious.

Wonderfully Unique Tasty Food - Edit
Oh my gosh, this place is great! The service was really good, the ambiance is great, but the food is absolutely the star! We got skewers and fried mushrooms. It was a mix of lots of different mushrooms, not just white button. For entrees, we got the egg roll burger and the sourdough cheese sandwich with a burger patty on it and a side of tomato soup. I wasn't sure about the egg roll burger, but it was wonderful. There is a hint of sesame oil, which made me audibly yummm. The cheese sandwich had apples on it, and they added just a small hint of sweetness. It tasted like a really great patty melt. The tomato soup was so rich and creamy. It was hands down the best tomato soup I've had. This place is so creative with their dishes. When we make it out to San Diego again, we'll be back to Kindred for sure.
