Good selection and cosy atmhosphere - Edit
I went there two times. First time i ordered some veggieballs, they were ok. A bit doughy, but i think that was just my taste. Unfortunately they did not have vegan cheese that second time i went, so instead of pizza i ordered a tofu curry, that one was very good!! Went there with ppl who eats meat, they also enjoyed the food. They have many options.
Read morePS: it is two restaurants in one. One veggie/vegan menu (pasta, pizza, curries etc etc) and one meatmenu (and it is this one which is jamaican in particular).
Pros: Many options!, Super cosy atmhosphere + chill music
Cons: Not fully vegetarian anymore

A good selection of vegan food. Has a separate veg/vegan menu but also serves meat. Food choices include Tofu and seitan plus raw and gluten free option. The dish I had was well presented and tasty.

If you love murdering animals, eat here! - Edit
I'm so so sorry to leave a negative review of the only non indian vegetarian restaurant.
Read moreThey claim they have 2 kitchens. Yet plates and everything is washed with the meat plates.
The waiter kept insisting others at the table eat meat. He even left a meat menu where we thought it was vegetarian menu with meat sounding names.
Kind Earth murders animals. What does a non Kind Earth do?
At least the Indian restaurants in town are plentiful
Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: They serve meat, Waiter kept insisting meat menu, Prices are high, food isn't great

Creative vegan food with wonderful ambience - Edit
Discovered this resturant on Happy Cow and it did not disappoint! We ordered the cassava cakes to start and the vegetable balls and mock steak. All the food was favorful and tasty! We sat in the garden area and had a live guitar player with a beautiful voice singing during the dinner. They also serve fresh juices and you can even get cocktails made with fresh juice. I had the lemonade with basil and watermelon. Overall great experience and highly recommended this resturant when in Dar!

Try the vegetable balls - Edit
So, ‘vegetable balls’ are not usually a menu item to get the pulse racing, right? But these were a delight; a finely balanced melding of cashew nut cheese and a rich, piquant sauce. Clearly inspired by malai kofta, but, like the best vegan dishes, very much their own thing. The brown rice was a perfect textural complement. Liked the smoothie, and the passion cheesecake was good, if not quite defrosted. My meat-eating companion loved the restaurant, not only for the food but the ambience. Just a shame that they serve meat now, if economically understandable.

Delicious & Delightful! - Edit
Slightly secluded back from the main road, this gem was a culinary delight. The owner, Betty, offered to show me the two separate kitchens for veg/vegan (the original portion of the restaurant) and the added on Jamaican side (meat, fish, poultry). We talked about healthy eating, local foods and farmers, and a couple of new vegan recipes that she was developing. The coconut curry with peas and tofu, lentil/brown rice, and vegetable salad with a stunning house vinaigrette was accompanied by a delicious wine and a guitarist serenading us in the gardens. The food was fresh and flavorful, plentiful, and obviously prepared with love and pride. I look forward to trying one the many options on the 'Starters" menu for lunch with homemade vegan soup tomorrow!

Lovely and creative food - Edit
All as stated, lovely and creative food and food combinations. I had the 'meat' balls with dates and black rice which was very surprising and great. It is a bit on the expensive side for Africa(been travelling a while) but very very enjoyable and rich on taste! Definitely recommendable!

Best food in Dar es Salaam - Edit
"Best food in Dar es Salaam" - and those were the words of my omnivore colleague who goes to this place regularly.
Read moreThis is still a new place, so the staff is still somewhat untrained, so the service might be a bit slow, they do not always inform you correctly about which items on the menu are not available, and you have to be wary of when ordering a soy milk cappuccino to really get a soy milk cappuccino.
But: the food is absolutely amazing, the best by far I have had in this city. Tasty, creative, made with love to detail. And the owner is a really great personality.
So that is why we go there all the time, and if you are a vegetarian/vegan visiting/living in Dar es Salaam, you should go there too. ;)
Pros: Best food in town, Creative kitchen, Only place with soy milk cappucino!
