Fantastic - Edit
Would definitely recommend making your way over here. It can get very busy so maybe book if you can. Basically everything was vegan or could be made vegan and they had a large selection of baked goods. I found staff to be very friendly.

Incredible vegan breakfast! - Edit
I booked brunch with my friend and had the most amazing stack of vegan pancakes with maple syrup, banana, strawberries, fruit compote and almond butter. She's vegetarian and enjoyed her avocado toast with poached eggs too. I could have ordered almost anything on the menu because it all looked so good.

Wanted so badly to like it! - Edit
We came here having heard amazing reviews online and from friends. It’s a cute little cafe, the staff are absolutely lovely and the menu really extensive. But our experience wasn’t great - they were out of quite a few options, and they gave us the wrong order. When we asked for them to be changed, they came back wrong again! When it was served, the food was cold:(
Read morethe staff were lovely and super apologetic, but it wasn’t the best experience.

Disappointing cake but excellent service - Edit
We went for coffee and cake as a family. The brownie was excellent, but the vegan doughnut and cardamom and pistachio cake were both very stale indeed. However the experience was redeemed by the staff who were very apologetic and gave us vouchers for free coffee by way of apology. To top it all, my wife’s phone was stolen while we were sat at the table outside, and the staff were very supportive and kind to us afterwards.

Hi ! Thanks for your feedback. We have taken it on board, the doughnuts are better when they are served slightly warm as they are vegan they have a tendency to go hard when cold but we will make sure this issue doesn't happen anymore and we are speaking with the supplier. Also, in regards to your phone we did everything we could and we do work very hard to make sure our cafe is a safe and secure environment for all our customers.

Visually attractive food, but needs working on taste - Edit
I had the vegan KIN breakfast and a cappuccino with oat milk. They use a single origin coffee called Mayni, which is a plus. The vegan KIN breakfast had tofu scramble, a marinated fried tofu, toast, a spinach, potato and mushroom hash, grilled tomato, smashed avocado and baked beans. Whereas the presentation was very pleasant, I did not quite enjoy it the way I thought I would. The avocado mash was too lemony for my taste. The marinated tofu got a bit chewy, although I liked the flavour, and the bread got a bit hard as well. I've tried tastier tofu scramble before, which is difficult to achieve because tofu tends to be bland, but it can be done. My partner had the vegan omelette breakfast. I tried it and I wasn't very impressed. He did like it, though. In summary, excellent presentation, but I think the flavours need to be enhanced and the textured worked on. I would not really go back for now but I can see how other people might like it.

Nice place - Edit
Nice little café. Quick and kind service. I had the coconut youghurt with granola and fruit. Nothing fancy but I enjoyed it as I craved a light breakast. There was maybe too much granola for the amount of youghurt, I would have liked it with a little bit more of youghurt.

Slightly Disappointed - Edit
Walked a fair way off of my route to have either scrambled tofu on toast or the Mexican vegan breakfast which has been advertised on Happy Cow. When I got there, the lady asked if I would like breakfast, I said yes please, scrambled tofu. She looked at me and said we don’t do that, but we do have muesli or pancakes. Very disappointed, I asked if they did avacado on toast which they did, so went for that. A coffee and avacado on toast around £9.50. Good portion and beautifully presented, but too lemony for my palate. Also, the soya curdled in the coffee. All in all, pretty disappointed given what I had hoped for from the reviews on this app :-(

Hi George,

Nice Meeting Spot - Edit
Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a quiet chat with a friend over vegan food. It wasn't busy, and sitting in the back made me feel warm and relaxed.
Read moreThe person behind the counter was welcoming and offered recommendations when we told them we were vegan. These made us opt for the vegan tomato quiche which was served with a nice olive and sundried tomato salad. It tasted wonderful, but the portion could have been bigger, especially considering that the meal was £8. On top of that, I ordered a vegan croissant, which tasted exactly like the butter-laden ones I used to have when I was younger. Unfortunately, it came without vegan butter and jam - a girl can dream!
Overall, I enjoyed eating at Kin Café and would definitely come back to explore more of their vegan options.

Chilled out, light and airy space - Edit
Having been here a few times now I can see that the food is consistently great, staff are happy and engaging, food comes pretty quickly, the layout is sympathetic and it’s generally a nice chilled place to eat in central London. It’s by no means cheap, but the prices are fair for central London and great for the quality of food.

I'd skip it - Edit
Food sits out all day so by the time you'd arrive (in the afternoon in my case) it's a bit old tasting (kiche was dry or veggies wilted). If you're going, get something that will be reheated but it's pricey for reheated food
Read morePros: cake
Cons: not fresh, pricey
CharlieMeadows
Hi Ashwinn,
Read moreI'm Charlie and I'm the owner of Kin
Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback, and I'm sorry it wasn't positive. Just a few points of my own below in response...
We have trialled getting rid of food at 3.30pm daily, however we found that we had more customers arriving and being annoyed that we had nothing left, add to that the increased wastage incurred (bad for us but predominantly the environment).
So, we decided to serve it until we close or run out, and it's been well received on the whole. We make all our breakfast and lunch dishes fresh daily in our kitchen, before and during service. That said, you are right that it gets less fresh as the day goes on and thus maybe in some cases less pleasant to eat. This isn't something we can really help, aside from reheating things where possible. I think generally the later one visits anywhere, the less fresh the food will be in any case. So, if you do choose to visit again, I hope it will be earlier in the day when I hope you'd have a more positive experience.
In terms of our food being more 'pricey' if it's reaheated, I'm not sure if I've misunderstood this or perhaps you haven't been clear, but our prices are the same for the customer whether the food is reheated or not. I hope this clears up this misunderstanding.
I am however glad you enjoyed our cakes, this is appreciated and nice to hear!
I am again sorry that you didn't enjoy your visit very much. I do hope that you might consider visiting us again perhaps earlier in the day.
Thank you again,
Charlie

Nice Vegan Options - Edit
Stopped by Kin Cafe for breakfast and it turned out really nice. Got the Mexican eggs vegan option and toast. Very flavorful tofu scramble, actually wish I had gone for the tofu scramble pesto sandwich instead since the bread and tofu were so good. Ended up taking the sandwich for takeaway on my flight home. It can get busy, but the food was great, came out hot, and the staff is really nice. It was also really easy to find. Will definitely be back!

Dear Tikhonova,
Read moreI'm the owner of Kin.
Firstly may I thank you for taking the time to provide your valuable feedback.
I'm sorry your experience at Kin was quite negative and you didn't feel you got much value for your money spent. We have recently changed our kitchen team, and are thus still ironing out a few of the things you have mentioned, such as perfecting our recipes and portion sizes. We are confident that, should you choose to return, you will have a better experience in relation to these issues.
With regards to the coffee, I'm sorry that you thought it was expensive. We pride ourselves on our premium espresso blend, which unfortunately does cost more than other less premium beans. We therefore, like our nearby competitors, do need to charge the amount we charge (still slightly less than the above venues) in order to sustain this area of the business. I hope this eases your criticism ever so slightly and again I am sorry that you didn't see much value in this.
I want to thank you again for your feedback and wish you a pleasant day.
