Best Pistachio cake - Edit
The vegan mezze options are really good, maybe a tad pricey but more than makes up for it in quality. Great coffee, the best vegan pistachio cake, lovely vegan oatmeal cookies. Friendly and helpful staff.

Great for gf vegan - Edit
Apart from the pleasant surroundings we were pleasantly surprised by how many dishes were both vegan and gluten free, plus more which could be made vegan. V fresh food. Lovely atmosphere, acoustics get VERY echoey though when full so if you have long suffering ears best arrive early doors.

The sourdough toast with cherry tomatoes and vegan feta is packed with flavour. Also enjoyed a slice of carrot cake. Oat milk available for hot drinks.

Kiln Time - Edit
Visited today after having lunch at the nearby Ship Inn. There are a some decent vegan options on the menu such as aubergine charcoal with walnut sauce salsa or cauliflower charcoal but on this occasion just a coffee and a fruit scone with jam sufficed. It would have been nice to see some vegan cake options but none were available, which was a shame. Nevertheless, the coffee was great and the scone was very tasty but could have been improved further with some vegan butter but that too was not available. Three stars on this occasion but I would return.

Cons: Serves meat , Few more vegan options please

The harder you look - Edit
After driving past this place for months on the way home from work not realising it was on Happy Cow, a visit was well overdue. This is a dream bar. Great location, perfect lighting, delightful decor, nice seating arrangements and far enough away from the city centre not to be troubled by any stag and hen do infringements. It has a menu that is extremely vegan friendly with only 2 dishes appearing to contain fish or flesh. The partially open kitchen looked clean and efficient, somewhere I would be very happy to receive nutrition from. On this occasion, a couple of halves of Peroni sufficed before a short walk over to the other side of Ouseburn for an 80’s music fix. It’s also worth checking out their impressive range of home produced pottery which is made on site. Kiln by name kiln by nature.
