Delicious food and lots of options

KhaoSan Thai serves excellent food at a good price and offers a lot to those searching for plant-based food.

First of all, the Providence area has a well-deserved reputation for excellent food INCLUDING a tremendous amount of creative, tasty vegan food. But, if you are out of downtown and over on the east side the options are more limited. KhaoSan is conveniently located in East Providence right on Warren Ave. Tiny parking area with nice inside seating.

We got take-out, and, as another reviewer said, they don't identify the vegan options online. But they have 10 straight-up vegan offerings and a whole bunch that are vegan-option (usually choosing tofu as the protein).
We had Fried Tofu (excellent!), Spring Rolls, Pad Thai J, and Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles). Everything was absolutely delicious!

Other fully vegan options are: Scallion Pancakes, Fried Chive Dumplings, Vegetable Tempura for apps. Other popular vegan-option apps are the Fresh Rolls and Fried Vegetable Dumplings. ALL Fried Rice dishes are vegan-option, as well.

Before you ask them on the phone - ALL curry dishes are made with fish sauce, so there isn't any way to make them vegan.

In all, KhaoSan is a solid choice, particularly if you are outside of Providence on the east side of town.

Pros: Great food, Flexible with vegan-options and special changes, very friendly staff

Cons: website doesn't say what is vegan except pad thai, very small parking area
