Tamarind salad delicious! Good value, good service - Edit
The food here was a little hit and miss. The tamarind leaf salad was so delicious, it was a little addictive. The tomato peanut curry however was pretty disappointing.
Read moreThe service was really good, and it’s a good - albeit slightly busy, dusty - location. It was pretty good value for the portion sizes (salad, curry and rice for 6,000MMK)
Pros: Try the tamarind salad!!, Good service

Underwhelming - Edit
We had the mustard greens and a pumpkin curry. Both were really bland boring and tasteless. The curry was just chunks of pumpkin in a thin watery sauce with very little flavour. We were really disappointed. The service was good.

Tasty food, good price, friendly staff - Edit
Good food at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, the curry sauce was a kind of sweet n sour sauce. Still tasty but not as healthy as expected. Amiable staff which welcomed us warmly. Many vegan choices and. Portions could be bigger. You won’t do anything wrong visiting this place for lunch (or dinner).

Lovely vegan food and lovely service - Edit
The owner is very kind, welcoming and helpful. He educated himself after some vegan guests had told him off for serving vegetarian food so now he knows what’s vegan what’s not😉We ate at the restaurant a few times and the food was always delicious, followed by some nice local sweets, fruit and nuts. In our opinion it was the best place with vegan options in Old Bagan and we highly recommend it :)

Highly recommended - Edit
They understand what vegan is and can veganize more options for you. The food was delicious and cheap. They understand when you tell them you don’t want a straw so they don’t bring it ( not as in many other places when they smile: yes yes no straw, but they bring it anyway) You also get fruit as a desert, I got mine without honey as they knew I was a vegan. We ate there twice and I would definitely come back.

Vegans be very aware - Edit
Came here after reading the good reviews and also to support a veggie restaurant. We told the waiter we were both vegan and explained vegetarian with no eggs, milk, cheese or honey. We then proceeded to order two mains. I ordered the veg salad and specifically checked for no egg/cheese/milk/honey. He said no. When my salad arrived, the portion was teeny tiny and I noticed some kind of gluey sticky sauce-like dressing on top. I asked the waiter what the sauce was. He said it was peanut sauce. I asked what the ingredients where and he told me oil, peanuts and peanut powder. I thought it still didn’t sit right with me but I tried it anyway despite the sticky substance putting me off slightly. After one bite I wasn’t impressed and gave to my also vegan partner to try. Just as he was tasting it another staff member came over saying “no egg or cheese just mayonnaise” she showed us the jar and clear as day the ingredients were EGG. We explained this wasn’t vegan and does contain eggs. Safe to say we were both very upset by this point - after manoeuvring our way through India and Yangon and managing to avoid any animal based products to be then served this in a veggie restaurant that claims to understand veganism was a major disappointment. This episode also put my partner off his meal and we decided to leave. We refused to pay for the food and the waiter came over with a peace offering of another salad and some fruit - covered in honey. We understand the language barrier can be an issue sometimes but to be specifically told on two occasions our food would not contain any animal derived products and then it does is very worrying; more so for people who have allergies to these food groups. We will not be returning. If you give this place a chance please triple check your food orders.

Good service & food - Edit
Staff really does make an effort to make your experience as nice as possible. They serve you peanuts, chips & a taste of one of their salads for an appetizer. You also get fruit & some local candy for dessert.
Read moreFood is good, just don't order the golden pumpkin curry, as it is completely tasteless.

Good food, great service. - Edit
The place is very simple and nice. The walls are full of customers pictures. As soon as we arrived the owner welcomed us with a small gift. The portions were big and the food was really tasty. The service is also very good and takes care of their customers. At the end we were also offered 4 small plates of fruits.

A must in Bagan! - Edit
Went here for lunch and everything was perfect: huge menu, authentic flavors (if you’re looking for that), healthy vegetarian food, and incredibly kind staff. I had the Bagan tamarind leaf salad to start, and it was so light and tasty. (Note: it does not taste at all like tamarind fruit; the leaves had a very mild, salad greens-type flavor.) Also tried the fried spring rolls (great), golden pumpkin curry (light enough for hot weather), and coconut rice (nice touch). For dessert, the staff brought some Burmese sweets and fresh fruit for free. (Tell them in advance if you do not eat honey.) They had a huge list of awesome-looking fresh fruit juices, which I will be going back tomorrow to try. Another good point is that they also have Thai, Chinese, and western food on the menu if you are growing tired of Burmese food.

Nice little vegetarian restaurant in Bagan serving some of the tastiest food we have come across in south east Asia. We ordered the tomato and peanut curry, guecomole and poppadoms and 2 portions of boiled rice, both were extremely delicious and recommended. On top of this they gave us crisps and nuts to snack on whilst waiting, a "taster" mango salad and banana drizzled in a local honey all for free. Total: 8000k. Food was quick. Highly recommended.

Food was alright, service was very slow - Edit
We waited for more than an hour for our food to arrive, even though the people working there were super nice and friendly. I liked the tea leaf salad and spring rolls. The guacamole was sweet and it took us quite a while to add enough lime and salt to balance out the sweetness.

Good food, great people - Edit
Me and my boyfriend had such a nice, cheap lunch here. We had the Myanmar style guacamole, the tomato-peanut curry and the vegetable noodles. The owner was so friendly! That really made our lunch complete. He helped us pick from the menu and even let us taste some salad. After our lunch he also helped us with our itinerary. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant :)
