Really tasty Indian food - Edit
I’m not usually the biggest fan of Indian restaurants but I love kayal! They have an amazing vegan selection. I’ve been a couple of times and have really enjoyed it both times.

Tasty south Indian food - Edit
I had the vegetarian sadya (thali) and the waiter said it was suitable for vegans without modification. Unlike other places I've had a thali, there was a soup before and desert after the main platter.
Read moreSoup: Dhal-based with curry leaves, nice but quite plain
Main platter: Seven (!) small portions of different main courses, plus one appam and a large portion of rice. All very different from one another in taste and texture.
Desert: I was full after the main platter so I asked them to give my desert to the staff. According to my friend who's eaten there before, it's a huge portion of rice pudding.
Overall, I wouldn't order the sadya for myself again, but maybe to share with someone as it's huge and you're paying £20 for something you can't finish. My friends ordered a la carte and were both very happy with their vegan meals. I also spotted them serving a masala dosa which looked like an ample meal in itself.

Quite good - Edit
Their vegan kurma is good, I’m vegetarian so I liked the paneer the most. The veg stew however I didn’t like as much, was not as flavourful. Overall good but prefer another Indian across the street although that one is pricier.
