A beautiful place to recharge - Edit
This place was recommended to us by Bayt Sara in Amman (another absolute must-visit for vegans in Jordan). Kawon is a cultural hub with a book shop attached. There's lots of space to relax and lounge on the couches, read your newly purchased book and play board games too. You can create your own tea blend by choosing specific herbs, which I think is an interesting concept! They had lots of vegan sweet treats to choose from but we didn't buy any this time. I got the vegan poke bowl for lunch, which tasted as good as it looked, especially the roasted beetroot pieces! 😋

Massive highlight - Edit
Beautiful quiet spot in the city with delicious health food, massive selection of teas and vegan sweet treats. In a culture space with a second hand book, record and movie poster shop. Don’t miss this.

We read the good reviews, but the food we got served and the idyllic place we sat in while eating where even better. We shared Emilia’s Plate and Baladi Plate, both were heavenly good. We drank a golden milk, freshly made, with soy milk, só tastefull! Great place to spoil your soul!

Outdoor heaven - Edit
If this place was in Amman I'd be a regular. I love their backyard and how chill the atmosphere is. One of their two taghmees platters is vegan and they always have a plant milk available, sometimes vegan cookies.

Come for the food; Stay for the books. - Edit
Delicious, simple, fresh and large portions. Limited menu, but it’s more than enough. The soy “meat” is dehydrated soy and they cook it in a spicy sauce. The space is part book shop (the only book shop in town) and it’s really quite special. Loved the experience. The cafe offers soy milk and vegan cinnamon cookies.

AWESOME VEGAN SPOT IN MADABA - Edit
I was so surprised to find this place in Madaba. I honestly feel like this is a hidden gem within the city. The atmosphere is unbelievable. There is a nice green outdoor area for eating (as well as a cozy indoor area). There is a really nice library inside, which was stylish and nice if you want a unique photo for Instagram.
Read moreThe vegan food was awesome. We had a nice green salad, an ice soy latte as a drink, sundried tomatoes and the vegan quesadillas. If you are vegan make sure you ask them to use vegan cheese (it’s so delicious).
I could not recommend this place enough. This is also an ideal place to spend the day working on your computer and drinking coffee. The vibes are amazing!

Gorgeous vegan-friendly oasis - Edit
I could stay at this cultural hub forever. Delicious vegan options, beautiful upcycled decor, tranquil garden where they organically grow a lot of the veggies and herbs they use, coffee bar, bookstore, and even a room for students to come study all day for just 1 JD. And lots of adorable cats running around, whom they feed. The 2 owners have created a truly special place with many hangout spots, which is also a mecca of compassion. Treat yourself to this delightful space to nurture your body and soul. You'll receive caring attention and much kindness.

I rarely give a place that's not pure vegan 5 stars but this (only!) pure veg option in Madaba is amazing. Great vibe, amazing food (vegan options for sure) and great coffee. The bookstore is enveloping and super cool!! Must visit when in Madaba!

Love love love - Edit
The atmosphere of this place is awesome. Everybody is very nice. The food is delicious. The coffee is sooo good and the people are inspirering. I was traveling with a group and wanted something else than all the touristic places. So I looked on Happy Cow and I went to this place with 4 other women. We had no clue where we would end up. But we all loved it!! I wish we could stay longer. We will definitly be back some day.

Wow! - Edit
After having little luck with good vegan food in Jordan this place was amazing. Emilia who works here was amazing and really spoiled us with some outstanding food. We left absolutely stuffed and compared to what we have paid elsewhere in Jordan, really good value. In fact if there wasn’t anything else to see in Madaba (and there is) it would be worth coming just for this food.
Read morePS they even have soy milk for coffee and hot chocolate which we haven’t seen anywhere else in Jordan.

An Oasis - Edit
Based on the previous strong reviews, I came here for a later dinner after landing and picking up the rental car. The experience exceeded my expectations! Very cool place with combo library / restaurant / cafe, great vibe, super friendly and helpful owners and staff (who all speak English very well), and the two vegan options from the simple 3-choice menu were great! This place is a cultural oasis and I would happily go back again and recommend it.

The first vegetarian kitchen in Madaba - Edit
In my stay in Jordan I had the chance to visit Kawon in Madaba. Not only is it the first and only bookshop in the city, it is also the first and only vegetarian kitchen. When I visited they only had one dish to offer, but they told me about their plans in introducing a new vegan plate. But from my experience the vegetarian plate they offered me was really tasty, a mix of small local tastings: creamy hummus, zartar and labaneh, tahini and crispy arabic bread. I will recommend everyone who have plans about coming to Madaba to visit Kawon!

Best place in Jordan! - Edit
Not sure what is better: people or food.😄It's a special place in Madaba, you can eat there vegetarian/vegan local food but also some modern dishes which is unusual in Jordan. Everywhere you can find only falafel and hummus but Kawon is serving also sopus, wraps with local ingredients and amazing, healthy plates which will make you feel full. Menu is changing with seasons so everything is fresh. They sell some vegan preserves in a small jars and you can take it with you, made by locals so it's good to support. Delicious lemon jam! There is also a big cafe, you can ask them for plant milk and dessert ;)
Read moreAfter meal you should visit their bookshop, the only one in Madaba. I've spend in Jordan months and I'm in love with this place!
Pros: the best vegan food in Jordan, beautiful people and atmosphere, amazing bookshop
