Love Kathmandu! - Edit
I come to Kathmandu at least once a week and I love that they have many vegan options as well as a friendly and welcoming owner and staff. I saw that previous reviews mentioned being told there was butter in something that was marked as dairy free, but I do want to look into this further before making assumptions because they may be using vegan butter, and some of the staff do not speak English super well so I am guessing this may be part of the issue. Having met the owner several times and talking to her about what she puts in the vegan food, I feel pretty confident in what I am getting there but I will be sure to ask again when I go next time. Aside from the issue mentioned by another commenter, I’m a big fan of this place for the delicious food, the fact that most dishes can be made vegan, and the friendly community environment. If the owner is there she can make a vegan chai. I just don’t think the other staff know how to do it. I’ve always found them to be friendly and accommodating. For such a tiny town, I think it’s probably got the best vegan options in Ned.

False Advertising. Most of buffet has butter:( - Edit
Well I have been here a couple times and thought I hit the vegan jackpot. In the past I had asked if they had vegan options and they had said “a lot”. Well I probed further today and was told that the things that say “No Dairy” have butter in them, I tried to be as nice as possible when I explained that butter is dairy:/ I hope they see this and invest in some good vegan butter but for now I will be just going back for their soymilk chai lattes.

Read the reviews about an awesome lunch buffet and they were accurate! Tons of vegan options and everything is marked. All you can eat was such a welcome thing after a long trail run!😄too busy chowing down I forgot to take a pic!

Vegan food in the mountains - Edit
I’ve been to this restaurant twice and both experiences have been great! They have a ton of vegan options. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is super delicious and the price it right!

We went here for the lunch buffet. There were lots of choices for vegans. All the dishes were marked as to what they were and whether they were diary free/egg free etc. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

Hearty vegan food after a long day of walking! - Edit
We stopped here on our way back from the mountains and were really pleased with the food, as well as the service and how fast we got everything. There is an entire vegetarian menu, which they are happy to make without dairy so there's lots to choose from. Recommend the mimo dumplings, mixed vegetable curry and saag tofu :)

We stopped in for lunch and had a tasty time. We enjoyed some nice flavorful food. Everything was labeled and the staff was helpful. The spicy cabbage was really good and hot and the mixed veggies were great!!

Good fuel for a hike. - Edit
Upon driving through Nederland on the way to a trailhead, my partner and I stopped here to fuel up. I was able to eat several things on the buffet. They were marked with 'dairy free' and 'gluten free' signs. I did ask the server which items had egg included, which was only two out of the ten or so vegan options. Most of them were also gluten free. I was pleased with the meal. Their jalapeno cabbage was INCREDIBLE.

Great Buffet - Edit
I've gone here several times over the years when visiting Colorado. They have a large lunch buffet with many vegan options (including a second saag dish which is vegan versus the one with paneer). Note that they appear to always have the same dishes in the buffet (versus some restaurants which have different dishes on different days). Nice ambiance (well, you're in Nederland, after all!) and friendly staff.

Delicious food-friendly accommodating staff. - Edit
We visited this restaurant for my birthday dinner after a glorious day of hiking. The food was soooo good and the waitstaff was really friendly and happy to guide us toward vegan options. The prices were very reasonable and it was a great experience overall. We really enjoyed and will be back!
