i loved the veggie combo plate! everything tasted amazing. there was also some live music at the restaurant and the interior was really cool

Fantastic Ethiopian Veggie Plate - Edit
My friend and I each ordered veggie combo ($18) which was a spread of five different vegan friendly entrees over the iconic, spongy injera. Sizing wise, each plate would replicate about half a large circle spread.
Read moreEverything on our plate was delicious although we weren't fans of the pan-fried injera bread entree. I really enjoyed the stewed lentils and the collared greens at Kategna were not as salty as I've had at other Ethiopian restaurants. I also appreciate the extra rolls of injera and the refreshing side salad that came with our meal.
(If you haven't figured already, I'm bad at remembering most of the Ethiopian dish names so I rely heavily on the descriptions lol)
Our hungry selves also split the sumbusa ($6) to start and it was one of the best fried dumpling appetizers I've ever had. In hindsight, we probably could have gotten one veggie combo and maybe a different entree to share because just the one plate was a large amount of food. Perfect for one hungry person but easily sharable.
The restaurant interior resembles a jazz bar with various table seating and gorgeous flowers and hand sanitizer spread out at each table. They definitely captured an upscale feel with this one.
Parking is available in a private lot right outside. They offer indoor and outdoor dining, although with the outdoor option, you are situated parallel to the window of someone eating inside so I could see it being a bit awkward...
