The BEST vegan Happy Hour in Sac

Kasbah never disappoints. Came for the vegan options during Dine Downtown 2024 and am reminded why this is one of my absolute favorites in Sacramento.

Flavorful, creative, and a great date night vibe. Excellent craft cocktails!

Many clearly marked vegan options on the regular menu. #Veganuary

Pros: So many flavorful vegan options!, Excellent Caipirinha, Date night vibes

Cons: Service can be slow when they are short-staffed

Ok I had heard this place’s vegan options had gone down hill…but after seeing your review…I think I better go check it out for myself. Thank you! 👍

Restaurant Struggling

All the wonderful vegan options that are listed by Happy Cow are gone…except the lentil soup. I love a good seitan gyro and was really looking forward to having a date night splurge with my love. Unfortunately they no longer have the vegan gyro, ran out of the vegan stew by 6:30pm on a Saturday, and the only main entree that was vegan were the falafels which I’m not a fan of in general. The lentil soup was huge for a bowl (apx 500-750ml), so that appetizer became my meal and was decent but not worth the trip downtown and $16. The hummus and baba ghanoush were subpar for a Mediterranean restaurant and the pita was hard, flavorless and just edible. My wife said their non-vegan food wasn’t very good either.
The poor server was overwhelmed and kept making minor errors, we had to go to the bar directly to get our cocktails which were average but pricey, had to ask for silverware and to remove plates from our table to make room for the next …our server was the hostess, busboy and waitress on a Saturday night. Our romantic date night was over $100 for 2 cocktails, a couple appetizers and one main entree. Hopefully Kasbah will make changes because the experience we had was echoed by others around us.

Pros: Vegan options , Kind server

Cons: Mediocre flavorless food, Removed/ Ran out of vegan options , Hectic, poorly supported staff

A favorite for sure.

Even though it’s not all vegan, their vegan options accounts for about 50% of their full menu. I highly recommend their Fatoosh Salad.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Great drink menu

Cons: Expensive , Always busy

Vegan Gyro

Super friendly staff, cool atmosphere, outdoor sidewalk parallel seating, and a VEGAN GYRO. So incredibly happy to have this restaurant nearby, as this dish is perfection. House-made seitan, fresh veggies, vegan cheese, and creamy sauce paired with the most delicious fries. This is a must visit if you’re in the mood for good Mediterranean food.

Pros: Best vegan Greek option in Sac, Good vibe, Great value

Great Seitan

I had their Seitan burger during the Vegan Burger Battle. It’s like their vegan gyros I hear. Totally delicious!

Vegan options and great cocktails

Been here several times and have never been disappointed. I tried the vegan shawarma last time and thought that their house made Seiten was some of the best I’ve ever had. Their falafel and tabouleh is definitely worth trying too. If you order the mezza platter though be careful, they put cheese on something (I can’t remember what but just ask for no dairy).

Pros: Clearly listed vegan options and ingredients, Relaxing atmosphere, Good place to go for a nice dinner

Cons: A bit pricey, The bathroom has a key code

separate vegan menu

I enjoyed what I ordered at kasbah. I ordered vegan falafel with vegan pommes berber(seasoned fries). My husband ordered the vegan shwarma which had loads of flavour and would definitely recommend. Nice place really busy and great atmosphere.

Pros: separate vegan menu, good prices, food tastes great
