Amazing - Edit
Karma was a lovely chilled place to be last night. The food was very good and the starter we had was amazing. Not sure what she does to the bread but it is to die for. My husband who is not vegan had the beyond burger but said when we visit again in a few days there was so much choice he would have something different as it all sounds lovely.

Cutest Vegan Cafe! - Edit
Absolutely loved Karma- I visited multiple times in the few days I was in Jaco! 🩷 My favorite dish was the French toast- quite sweet but so yummy and indulgent. Coffee here was also delicious! Would absolutely come back. Bonus was the barista/server was an angel. ☺️✨

Nothing short of fantastic! During my 2 week stay in CR this was my favourite 2 meals. It was so great that I came back that same night with friends for another meal. If you are a vegan in Jaco this is a must try! Sever is so amazing and food is too! So friendly and great vibes! Chocolate chip cookie was also amazing. Had chick’free sandwich, carbonara, corn ribs, cauliflower wings which were all 10/10. Can’t go wrong

New favorite restaurant! - Edit
We visited Jacó for 2 weeks in February & March of 2024. We tried lots of vegan food while visiting (Jacó has very good vegan options), but Karma was by far our favorite, and we visited every day that they were open on our trip (they’re only closed on Wednesdays)! I am from Portland, Oregon, where vegan food is available in abundance and is truly delicious, but our vegan restaurants don’t hold a candle to Karma Cafe. They are the best vegan food in Jacó (and Jacó has many vegan options) and are better than any vegan food I’ve had in Portland, either.
Read moreI’ve tried nearly everything on the menu during my two weeks here, and my favorite items are the Tofu Scramble Bagel, the Chick’free Salad, the Cauliflower Wings and the Tofu Sandwich. I don’t usually like seitan, but their seitan chicken is the best vegan chicken I’ve ever had. They have a Chick’free salad and sandwich. I generally prefer salads over sandwiches, so that’s my favorite, but the sandwich is very good as well, and the bread that they make in-house for their sandwiches is so good!
They have breakfast and lunch/dinner options, and offer menu items like cocktails, smoothies and milkshakes, coffee, bagels, sandwiches/burgers, salads, pasta and dessert (their chocolate chip cookies are DELICIOUS). The serving sizes are very filling and the prices aren’t bad at all. Everything is 100% plant-based. The atmosphere is very cute and well-kept, and the staff is friendly and speaks very good English. Julie and Tatiana are warm, welcoming helpful and friendly, and we are so lucky to have been welcomed into the Karma family. They have an English and a Spanish menu.
It’s a little small indoors so you might need to be strategic about when you come in if you have a big group. We saw 2 big groups come in at different points in our trip & the staff move tables to accommodate them, they are very flexible and do what they can to accommodate all guests. There is also a small outdoor patio with 2 tables. You can see the sunset if you sit on the patio or at one of the tables near the back door, it’s a beautiful view!
Overall, I highly recommend. I was already sad to leave Costa Rica, but I’m even more sad that I can’t bring Karma back home with me!

Traveled to CR for a couple of weeks and found this cafe in Jaco. I was so impressed with the food and the service, that I ate here almost daily. The Chick-free salad was some of the best vegan chicken I’ve had in my 20 years of veganism, as was the cauliflower. I have to give a shout out to the tofu scramble, which is amazing as well. I had a latte here almost every morning and couldn’t have asked for better. Be careful though, the chocolate chip cookies are addicting. The next time I am near Jaco, I will definitely be eating here!

What a lovely peaceful retreat, nice music, great service and awesome food. My wife and I had been touring Costa rica and spotted this 100% plant based restaurant and had to visit, and so glad we did, and had a lovely chat with the owner too. Thank you 😋

Truly the Best vegan Place - Edit
I am writing this review while still on a two-week trip to Jaco with family because I can’t wait until I get home to let people know about this place. We have currently been in Jaco for 6 days and have eaten here 5 of those days. It would’ve been all 6 days, but they are closed on Wednesdays. First off, the service is amazing… sincerely. We have only met 2 employees, but they are both exceptional. Tatiana has been our server, host, barista and bartender for 4 of our trips and is incredible at everything she does. I didn’t get the name of the woman who worked on Sunday,, but she is equally amazing. And they are both very friendly and helpful as well as extremely competent. We really couldn’t ask for better. Now the food… Holy crap! It’s amazing! Every single thing we have ordered has been phenomenal, but I have to give a shout out to the tofu scramble bagel. It is not only hands-down my favorite meal at Karma so far, but my favorite meal in all of Costa Rica so far and better than most of the vegan restaurants back home in Portland, OR, which is saying a lot. We have just over another week left in Jaco and we will be eating at Karma every day until we leave (except Wednesday, of course)!

I had the chicken sandwich. It was a thin grey piece of ‘meat’ between two huge 1 inch slabs of bread. Very mediocre. The chocolate chip cookie also wasn’t very good.

It was such a pleasant surprise to have such excellent plant-based locations to visit and dine in. Karma Cafe was certainly one of them. The food was affordably priced, service quick, and food amazing. I got the Fried Tofu Burger with Beach Fries. Others ordered the ceviche, pasta carbonara, breaded cauliflower, and I got an Espresso Martini.

Cons: That I couldn't stay another day to try more., That places like this in Florida are not as good., That I have to travel back to Jaco to have it.

I’m so incredibly glad we stopped here while passing through Jaco. Free street parking was easy, and as soon as the server saw my kid with me, she offered us a bucket of toys for him to play with at the table.
Read moreI had the Buddha bowl, the açaí bowl, the coffee smoothie, and a chocolate chip cookie. Ok, I got a small bite of the cookie before it was vacuumed up by my 4 year old. But everything was so delicious.
The Buddha bowl was my favorite and I highly recommend it. Great layering of flavors and textures, and I really appreciated the fresh blend of nutritious food after a few days of eating mostly carbs at nonvegan places in CR.
The restaurant was lovely, the staff were amazing, and I would definitely come here every day if I was staying in Jaco.
Pros: Delicious and healthy, Great place and staff, Buddha bowl

Great food and atmosphere - Edit
I had the chicken sandwich and Mac n cheese. The chicken sandwich was loaded with veggies and a delicious house made sauce. The Mac n cheese was a little too over cooked, and the smoky bacon crumbles on top overpowered the flavor of the Mac n cheese in my opinion. But overall great restaurant with tons of options and good drinks

Wonderful! - Edit
Really nice little cafe with a great atmosphere and large selection. My non veg family came here with me so we ordered a bunch of things to split. The bagel sandwich was one of my favorites. The snack plate was lovely but could have used more bread for dipping. I also really loved the hearts of palm ceviche, it was so refreshing! The pasta dishes didn't wow me too much, but they were still okay and decent sized portions. Overall a great lunch spot. Definitely check this place out if you're visiting Jaco!
