special soft serve

Really appreciate an ice-cream shop with unique vegan flavours and Kariton has some crackers. Today I tried the taho soft serve and it could be my favourite. The ice-cream itself is made from silken tofu and is quite refreshing and icey rather than smooth and creamy but I like that. Its layered with chunks of soy milk pannacotta for textural variation and tapioca pearls add a little pop. The warm sweet syrup didn't taste like oolong to me, more like dark treacle. Treats like this are a silver lining to the rapid gentrification of Footscray.

First time trying icecream in bun 🤯

Let me know if you agree with me on this. A vegan walks into an icecream store and has mostly the same options everywhere - Chocolate sorbet, lime sorbet, mango, berries etc.

And I walked into Kariton Chinatown and was MINDBLOWN. So many unique flavours and icecream in a bun!!?!
They are selling an experience, no doubt.

I’ve been here 3 times and I’ve ordered the Pandan and coconut flavour all 3 times. It’s so addictive! 🤷🏻‍♀️

In all the 3 times I’ve been there, I’ve seen rotational flavours for plant based options. So WIN!

Taho soft serve is great too but is overloaded with sugar.

Pros: Options

Cons: Sugar overload
