Serves meat, vegan options available. Medieval bar and garden. Open seasonally with a small menu inspired my medieval fare. Offers quinoa/lentil sausage platter, vegan root vegetable mash, and traditional wild leek soup. Please note that many businesses in Sweden are cashless. Seasonal opening times. Check ahead outside the summer months.

Super fun place with surprisingly vegan options! - Edit
I didn’t expect a restaurant serving Medieval food would have anything to cater to vegans, but was encouraged to ask by several people I met when visiting for Medieval Christmas. They offer a vegan sausage platter that includes a quinoa/lentil sausage (it was awesome, actually!) served with several vegan sides (root mash, sauerkraut, bread, chutney). The wild leek soup is vegan but is served with bread that comes with cream cheese; they were happy to leave off the cheese to make this item vegan as well. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable about veganism.
Read moreEven if they had nothing vegan on offer this place would be worth a visit in visby for the vibe and history alone. The fact that they are willing to gently bend from the traditional to offer something for vegans should be celebrated, and the fact that the food was actually really good is a major benefit. I look forward to returning at some point in the summer to enjoy the garden!
