Serves meat, vegan options available. An atmospheric restaurant serving a variety of dishes (mostly curries) from Nepal, Philippines, African. The monthly menu consists of 6 meals: 3 vegan, 3 meat - combine however you like. Since the restaurant is designed like a Bedouin tent, be prepared to eat with your hands (with flatbread instead of cutlery) and sit on cushions amidst sand. Chairs are available. Reservation is advised. Reported closed January 2023.

Atmospheric Restaurant

Nice restaurant with a unique beduin style. Sit on the floor on cushions in the sand and eat with your hands. Food is decent but could do with some more complexity. It is not bland per se, but some more spices would do magic.

Pros: Great atmosphere, Half the menu is vegan, You won't go home hungry

Cons: Food could have been spiced more, Food was clearly reheated, and not enough, Pakoras were way too salty

For the experience, not the food

I enjoyed going to Kamayan, but as a student with limited funds for going out to eat, wouldn’t recommend it to other vegans in a similar situation. The food was excellent, but I could have made it myself just as good for much much cheaper. A great option if you are out with your non-vegan friends though, as there are good options for everyone.

great place! make Sure to book a table on weekends

Its a pretty small place that is always fully booked on weekends so better make sure to book a seat upfront. The concept is pretty unique and cool. The foods changes every month. They always have 3 different vegan meals to choose from or a Mix of all 3. I was there like 5 tmes now and will definitly go again.

Pros: Changing Menu, unique concept, delicious food, pri

Cons: pretty small, Always fully booked on weekends

atmospheric eating

Over the past few years the Kamayan has become one of my favourite places for special occasions such as family dinners or romantic evenings. The menu changes monthly and is therefore rich in variety. The ambience in the "tent" is very pleasant and cozy. Great location for a meal with friends or family. Definitely order the "mix all" (the vegan version) so you'll get something from everything :) However, you should make reservations beforehand as it is often very full there.

Pros: changing menu, delicious curries, unusual eating experience

Cons: small menu
