Tasty affordable food - Edit
The atmosphere is what I imagine an truck stop in India might be like; however, the food is very flavorful. Be sure to question the server closely if you wish vegan food only.

I have eaten here multiple times during my trips to New York.. the food is excellent and the service is great.. I don’t eat onion and garlic and they were pretty able to make most of the items on their menu with out onion and garlic

This place is located in "Curry Hill" of NYC, where there are loads of Indian vegetarian Indian restaurants and Indian store. The food here is very good. When I visited, everybody else but me in the place seemed to be Indian--which suggests that this place is good for those in the know. There are gluten free options noted on the menu; you need to ask specifically for the vegan items.
