Fatal.

Sulky awful waitress, worst falafel - Edit
While the place is gorgeous, the experience was bad. My waitress with the shaved head was rude and seemed annoyed when I asked her if the veggie burger had eggs (off menu so no list of ingredients). She stated only veggies and grains.
Read moreCame out full of smoked tofu, dressing on salad even though I had asked for it off. Unpalatable and I returned it.
After a scolding I ordered the Falafel which were the most bland and boring I have ever had, for 10.50€. Never again. I have worked in the hospo industry 11 years and can only put up with so much. What a shame.
Pros: Nice atmosphere
Cons: Food so bland and badly melded., Staff geeeze

Excellent food and ambience - Edit
We found the food excellent. I had the nachos to start and the vegan curry, which is more Thai than Indian, and substantial and tasty. Lovely sitting outside in the courtyard full of plants. Excellent service.

Open on Mondays - Edit
It can be hard to eat vegan on San Sebastian on Mondays, so I ended up dining in Kafe Botanika. There were like 3-4 vegan options. Had the vegan curry, which was really good but I would've loved it more spicy. Vegan dessert was off the menu, so don't forget to ask the nice staff for it.

Nice spot! - Edit
A nice spot if you like to get away from the touristic areas such as old town, and get something else than pinxtos. Tasty and healthy options, nice staff, nice place to sit. Not cheap, but not too pricy.

Deliciously perfect! - Edit
Walked in on a rainy day (May 3rd) and with a full house. Being alone they managed to squeeze me in, but I do recommend booking in advance! Had the daily menu, I think it was 3 courses for 12eur if I’m not mistaken but don’t entirely remember a 100%... Delicious food, great service, nice atmosphere!

Good spot for veges! - Edit
Cute little cafe to escape the hustle and bustle of San Seb! Heaps of veg options, we had a vege curry. There’s also a veg burger on the dinner menu which looked good!

The kitchen was closed when I got here so I didnt get to try the food but it’s a very cosy place. Lots of character and a beautiful outdoor section! Good music and nice staff!

Excellent cafe - Edit
Very nice location along river with cozy indoor and outdoor seating. The friendly waitstaff were very helpful to explain vegan items on menu and with pleasant and fast service. The menu includes several items already vegan and a few others that can easily be modified for vegan: hummus, carrot pate, muhamara, lentil salad, soba salad, yellow coconut curry with veg and rice, etc. Very yummy vegan banana bread cake with chocolate and orange!

Veggie go-to in San Sebastián - Edit
I love this place! When you're worn out from desperately trying to find veggie pintxos in the parte vieja, this place is your refuge. I've been here three times in the past five days: first for afternoon tea & postres (dessert), next for hummus, G&T and today for lunch. My daughter & I shared felafel wrap and the special of the day, which was roasted vegetables with quinoa and harissa, accompanied by excellent bread and a licuado (smoothie) made from carrot, ginger and I forget what else. It was tasty, filling and all in a friendly setting.

I don't consider this place a vegan-friendly place. Moreover its damn expensive, silly-tourist-oriented.

Beautiful atmosphere and food - Edit
The location and the atmosphere of the Kafe Botanika are wonderful. I ordered the vegan "Asian Salad" and my boyfriend ordered Falafel which came with sauces that were non-vegan. My salad (with sweet potato noodels) did not taste good, but his falafel (I tried them without sauce) was aaaamazing! And the housemade juice was delicious as well, worth a try.

pretty location but not a great experience - Edit
The first day i found this place i thought i would make it my home base for the week. They have wifi, veg option food, so a perfect place to do hang out for a while. It did not turn put that way, unfortunately. The staff does speak english but is not very welcoming, and not really an example of friendliness. Food is not bad, but not amazing. The cake looks nice but was dry - but then again, maybe that is the style there.

Veg friendly, English Management - Edit
The owners are American and Canadian and were very willing to adjust some dishes slightly for a great vegan meal! Great, diverse bar with lots of basque local fare! Their salad is nicely balanced and the atmoshere is really hip and relaxed! The owners have a great story and are very open and willing to help with anything :)

Small veg offer but very yummy - Edit
When I've been there (02.16) they offered only 2 vegetarian dishes, wich both were vegan as well (hummus with pita 8,50€ and potato wedges 7€). It was very yummy but expensive. I'd eat there again :)

a little confusing but okay - Edit
Definitely vege options, but limited for breakfast for us vegans.
Read moreNot table service, which I didn't realise for a while. More cafeteria than cafe in that respect.
Order inside, and stand there until you get everything. They were a little bit flustered when I came, I think, As I had to keep asking about my tomato on toast... Which took three attempts.
Had tea, tomato on toast and small bowl of fruit muesli without the yoghurt. About 10 Euro... So not overly cheap.
Will probably just try somewhere simpler next time. Seemed a bit to hard for a breaky that can get from a carneceria if I felt inclined.
The tortilla looked good for those who eat eggs.
Worth trying for yourself, with this in mind.
