It is a cozy place shared with a coffee house - Backstage Roasters. I had a roasted cabbage. The sauce was really delicious. Yet, you can get hungry again soon, as the dish did not have protein source.
I didn't have the best experience when I first arrived as the kitchen closes quite early. The second time around, the waitress claimed that I hadn't paid sufficient: I assume that someone had stolen part of my payment, which happens everywhere but even so I was in a poor mood.
The mushroom filling flops around in a brioche bun. Later I realised that the bun may not have been plant-based. The filling was pretty good though. They also do a houmous which is not labelled as vegan and chips. Both seem to be plant-based and cooked in sunflower oil.
The price isn't cheap, especially as it is a fairly simple outdoor bar/restaurant.
I walked quite far from the place we stayed just to have a hot vegan meal. Unfortunately I want able to enjoy it fully as every single option had mustard I am allergic to. But chef and waiter managed to cook some chips for me and very nice salad with quinoa😄
When we visited the place, we had the portabaelo vegan burgers with potato wedges. It was delicious! They also had a buckwheat and vegatables stir fry, but we did not try it.
Vegan portobello burger is definitely worth a try 👍 - Edit
While not having many options, they do have a dedicated vegan portobello burger, which is absolutely delightful (oh, and the fries were so unique! I've never seen them prepared this way!) Passion fruit lemonade is also worth a try 👌
The environment is very pleasant and cosy
