Very charming - Edit
The all-vegan menu is small. So are the portion sizes. But so are the prices!
Read moreI had vegan pasta carbonara for €10 which didn't really taste like the not-vegan carbonara I remember but it was delicious in its own way 😊 but half of a starter would have been necessary to get completely full.
The outside area is charmingly designed and the owner is really nice. I got the feeling he is really into his vegan project there.
Oh, and there are gluten-free options, too!

Ottima location, cibo perfetto - Edit
Ci siamo trovati molto bene, personale preparato, tutto fresco e impeccabile.

Nice place, but… - Edit
The food isn’t anything special, it’s more like an answer to the question “what can you eat as a vegan?”.
Read moreVery basic stuff you can cook at home with the same quality. It’s okay for the price. It seems to be prepared in the morning and warmed up for orders, unfortunately not always completely warmed. Really seems like there is no cook, but just one person with good intentions running the whole thing, which is quite impressive.
The place lives from its heart-warming atmosphere, with Sea-Shepherd merch and so on.

Pleasant dining experience in Ortigia. We had the Hemp burger and lentil burger, both very tasty and different. Note the burgers dont come with fries as standard (order these as extras) Pasta dishes looked and smelled really good (At the table next to us)

Food okay, staff seem bit unhappy - Edit
Great to find fully vegan place, menu varied with choices of veganised italian classics but also burgers. We had the pasta nonna and the gnocchi, both were fine. Staff not very warm or friendly. Will go back to try other dishes as always good to support vegan initiatives - maybe the staff will have cheered up a bit...

Nice place. I got a yellow chickpeas burger. The burger was very soft like paste and the bun was dry. It wasn't tasty for me.

Friendly staff, odd food - Edit
I really don't want to be mean, since the staff was very friendly, prices were good and the restaurant is nice, but the food was just... very odd. We had falafel that felt as if they were not fried but just raw chickpeas, a chickpea burger whose patty was like chickpea mash and felt like it never saw a grill or a pan. A tiramisu that was inedible and sour as if it was spoiled... i don't know if we just got there on a bad day, where the stove was out of order... but at least for us, this was really unusual.

A real dissapointment - Edit
We were excited about visiting this restaurant, as one of only 2 vegan places in Ortigia, unfortunately the food was very disappointing.
Read moreWe ordered the Hummus and caponata to start. The hummus was nice, the caponata was ok though it could have used a touch more seasoning. The bread that came with was nice however and warmed up for service which was a nice touch.
For mains we had the carbonara and pasta a la norma. The carbonara was very odd. The sauce was green, stodgy, and tasted of fish. It was weirdly spicy also. The Seitan sausage was very very salty. My partner took a couple bites and then left the rest, it really was unpleasant.
The pasta a la norma was nice, though under seasoned, the dish was about 80% sauce and veggies, but what put me off of it was that every so often i would get a bit of aubergine or pepper that tasted off (like mouldy veg taste). I ended up leaving most of the sauce.
We sent back the mains and asked for the bill. Maybe we shouldn’t have expected them to take the mains off of the bill, but as we basically left full plates and told the server that we didn’t like the food, we expected something at least. The server (who was very friendly) told us we could talk to the boss/chef if we had a problem, so we did. Mistake. There was an obvious language barrier so it was hard to get across what we meant but essentially the chef told us ‘there’s nothing wrong with the food. If you don’t like it you are the problem.’ As a chef myself i understand the sentiment but the food unfortunately just wasn’t good quality.
We left feeling sour and unsatisfied.
We popped into a local omni restaurant nearby, ordered spaghetti aglio, olio e pepperoncino, and spaghetti pomodorro and it was wonderful!
Pros: All vegan
Cons: Food quality wasn’t great, Carbonara. Strange, not enjoyable

Ci siamo seduti nella verandina all'esterno.
Pros: Porzioni abbondanti e piatti saporiti, Tagliere di affettati veg, piatto originale, Disponibilita' del personale
Cons: Carbonara poco saporita

I've been there a couple of times, good burgers at a good price. They offer a special sauce with potatoes wedgefrench fries. I recommend to go there early to find all the options available. At the end it was a good experience, since SicilySiracusa isn't very vegan friendly.

Vegan, Organic casual dining - Edit
While my non-vegan friend has had the 5€ lentil burger & raved about it and my husband loved his crispy chickpea burger, I always have to try the more obscure menu items that range between 10-13€ 😂 What I’ve learned is that the owner / chef focuses on using seasonal ingredients which is awesome! The challenge is that what I order off the menu is never what I end up with. The cheese platter was delicious but really ended up being a medley of different flavored seitans. Delicious, yes but after living in a small village for a year, I really just wanted vegan cheese! My second visit was very similar. I ordered a dish that boasted creamy carrots and potatoes. Instead I got an amazing, colorful raw salad with a hearty & scrumptious lentil meat with gravy. The meal was incredible but do be prepared for anything! I love the peaceful messages throughout the cafe, organic produce, and his fresh fruit or veg juices. He sells vegan themed t-shirts and other items. The location is in a beautiful, quiet section of Ortigia. Don’t miss it!

Friendly, eco-centric, vegan place! - Edit
Nice vegan restaurant in Ortigia with appetizers, pasta, burgers, falefel, and a variety of other dishes. We had some really tasty things and some just-ok things, everything was healthy and the eco, 0-km focus was really nice. The person working each time we went was very friendly and helpful.
Read moreI had an incredible fresh juice that really hit the spot, don't miss that on a hot day. Some of the other dishes were short on strong flavours but pretty nicely done. The little terrace was nice. I was tending to a 4 star review but then after supper I had an incredible, thick, vegan hot-chocolate which bumped it up to a 5 :)
Pros: Eco-concious, Fresh juice, Friendly
Cons: Good be more flavours
