average breakfast - Edit
the interior was cute and the place had a nice vibe and friendly staff, but overall the tofu scramble was on the bland side. the portion sizes are decent but it kind of seems like the non-vegan dishes are bigger.

I ordered the Vivo French, which is two slices of thick-cut
Read moresourdough in vegan French toast batter. The outside was burnt, and the inside had uncooked batter.

Great little classic diner type spot with a few vegan options - Edit
This place is super cute, kind of retro vibe diner. The staff was crazy friendly. I got the vegan sourdough French toast. I was excited that there was a vegan option for French toast but it was a little plain, basically cinnamon toast with a little batter. My partner got a tofu scramble with hash browns and that was super good and the portions were very large!

Excellent scramble options - Edit
All the scrambles can be made vegan, same with the French toast (I've never tried that). There are two new vegan scrambles too. It seems most everything can be veganized.

Apparently Closed Now - Edit
Used to love this greasy spoon diner. Although they serve meat/eggs/dairy, they had some delicious vegan options. Although their website says they’re open, I went with a friend today and they were closed. No sign of life. The phone has also been disconnected. So, even after being bought by new owners during COVID, it looks as though this classic Portland place has now closed.

vegan options, so so food - Edit
While there are a lot of vegan options on the menu, I was less than excited about my tofu scramble. It was pretty bland. My boyfriend, who had nonveg food, was less than impressed with his food too.

fun place - Edit
It's a funky cool fun place and the neighborhood is nice to have an after breakfast stroll. I got the vegan French toast plate and it was okay. I was just excited that they had vegan French toast. It's a cool place to go with meat eaters since they have options for both.

Cozy & Delish - Edit
What a great little gem! It was worth the wait for their vegan breakfast plates. We just put our name down and walked elsewhere to get our cup of joe, then by the time we got back we were seated. We got the French toast plate and the vegan spuds. YUM! The tofu scramble was one of the best I've had so far! Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. I like the eclectic atmosphere , funky art, and mismatched coffee cups.

Great place for breakfast - Edit
An excellent place to grab some breakfast/brunch, this place had a huge menu with a very wide range of veggie and vegan options - to be honest, you'd have to search a bit to find the non-veggie items. If you're looking for something eggy and cheesy (and I was), Junior's is a great option. They also played The Smiths the entire time we were there, which is always going to win my approval.

Good Portland breakfast spot - Edit
Junior's Cafe is like that sweet beaded old cardigan that feels classy and comfy at the same time. I love that Junior's is small enough that it feels like a big city spot, and also friendly enough that it feels like a small town place. I really appreciate the crispy edges on the tofu chunks (chunks, not mash!) in the scrambles, and the potatoes are well seasoned. I love the fresh smell of shampoo coming off the other customers, old and young alike (I did mention it is a small). I hope that Junior's Cafe will be around a long, long time, just like my favorite old sweater.

Great Breakfast - Edit
Was really glad to have stopped here for breakfast while in Portland. The menu has plenty of vegetarian and vegan items, all clearly identified. Indications are also made where substitutions are possible - wait staff and chef are very accommodating.
Read moreWhile people rave about their potatoes with tofu sauce, we didn't have them. Not with the sauce, anyway. The potatoes themselves were quite good.
I very much enjoyed my vegan french toast meal with tofu scramble and vegan sausage. My wife had the 'greek spudz' which was also very tasty.
It's a quaint, unique little cafe that is quintessentially Portland. They make a mean breakfast at a reasonable price!
Pros: Menu very clear with many options, Portland vibe, Good food at reasonable prices

Cafe for everyone from vegan to carnivore - Edit
We were excited to visit Junior’s because of the positive online reviews, and we were not disappointed. We stopped in for lunch on a Friday morning and found them relatively busy. We were quickly seated and attended to by the most pleasant and happy server. She was upbeat during our entire visit and was a big part of making our visit enjoyable. The food was great! I had the vegan French toast breakfast, which was delicious. The French toast melted in my mouth. The fresh-squeezed orange juice was also delicious. My husband enjoyed a dish called The Prince, which featured tofu and Italian kale.

great place for a Sunday morning breakfast - Edit
Went there with some friends a few weeks ago and was very happy with it. The drinks were good, although the coffee was not great. I did have a delicious mimosa. They wait staff were friendly, and the vegans and vegetarians all left happy.
