Pretty good but could be better

We had mocktails, radish cake, edamame, tofu eggplant guabao (not vegan originally, but asked without the mayo) and vegan bbq baozi. Everything was delicious apart from the baozi which was the one you can buy frozen at the supermarket.
Not many vegan choices and a lack of informations on the menu to know what is vegan or not.

Menu changes, still a few vegan options

Ate here after reading the glowing reviews on happycow. The menu has seemingly undergone some change as vegan options such as bao and gyoza were no longer available. The bar staff weren't immediately sure about vegan options but were happy to check with the kitchen. Had the fried tofu, cauliflower, greens and radish cakes. Food was good overall, with the radish cakes being my favourite. Just a little unfortunate that we couldn't enjoy the former vegan options as it's a 15 minute walk from the town centre so a little out of the way. All in all was a decent vegan option if you're in the area.

Oasis in the desert!

Do not be put off by the drab exterior, or the security guard standing outside- the vegan options here are to die for. First, we had the vegie gyoza that literally melted in your mouth, and could genuinely be the best I’ve ever had anywhere. Next, we had the peanut/teriyaki drizzled tofu bites, which were a great light complementary dish. The clinchers that sealed the deal for me were the bao buns - a sweet peanut tofu one, a mushroom and sweet potato one, and the heavenly tempura potato/veg bao bun which rocked my world. Staff were very friendly, chatty and accommodating, and Miguel the lovely security guy helped us get a private car when we couldn’t get through to book a cab. The interior has a hippy/rock vibe, with chalk board art and great music playing to boot. A perfect way to end our stay in sunny Alice.

Go eat here now!

For some reason this place only just came across my radar and after visiting Alice for 5 years I am actually so sad I only just found it! Every single thing I ordered was INCREDIBLE and flavoursome. I got the smashed Cucumber, tofu Bites, vegan gyoza and some tofu baus and some tempura veg baus. Honestly I could have just kept eating and eating. The sauce on the tofu bites is peanutty and sweet and soooo good. The same sauce is in the tofu baus and the tempura veg has this great crunch texture with the soft bun. The gyoza have great veg flavours and the smashed cucumber was a great fresh starter. I can't wait until I can go back and eat there again seriously. Just every part was amazing. The vibe was cool with a live musician and plenty of private booths as well as big tables. It's very casual as attached to a inn/hostel but it's clean and cool and the food is amazing. Please go do yourself a favour and visit! There were more vegan options that I didn't even get to try yet. Also it's well priced!

Pros: Great flavoursome dishes, Casual setting, Lots of vegan options

Amazing find

Pleasantly surprised at this hole in the wall style restaurant and bar. Not much to look at from the outside, but we left completely stuffed from delicious food and cocktails. Highly recommend and best place in Alice so far.

Pros: Multiple options , Varied cuisine , Quiet

Cons: Beer garden but no view
