Date Vibe + Delicious Spicy Food - Edit
Complex drinks, spicy fare, exquisite dessert. I almost passed on a drink, but glad I ordered one. The non alcoholic mixed drinks were a hit too. Tons of spice to them.
Read moreBe aware that they use V for vegan and VA for vegan adaptable, but not well. For example, the ramen said V but had egg. When I asked they said it can be made vegan by omitting the egg.
Overall great food, but quite spicy, including the Gadogado salad.
Also, while the restaurant says they close at 10, kitchen closes about an hour earlier.

Too expensive for what you get. - Edit
If you’re vegetarian or vegan, it’s likely you’ve had to learn to cook and it’s likely you’ve become a good cook. Maybe it’s because I can cook good veggie food that I found Jumon’s fare uninspiring. I had a curry, which consisted of brown rice, four cubes of tofu, a peanut sauce, a bread-like tuile and a garnish of thinly-sliced red peppers. It was nicely presented and tasted OK but wasn’t worth the extortionate £17 they charged. It’s effectively Asian street food at overly-inflated prices. The restaurant’s ambiance is nice but the food is far too expensive for what you get. To be fair, it’s not just Jumon that does this. It’s become the norm in expensive Belfast, where we’re now paying London prices to eat out.

Tastiest food and cocktails ever🤤 - Edit
Lovely staff and delicious Asian vegan food. I recently took my boyfriend who isn’t a vegetarian/vegan and he said it was the nicest food he’s ever had(we ordered loads of starters, cocktails and both the desserts which are vegan!). My favourite vegan place in Ireland 😍

Delicious - Edit
It took me ages to choose what I wanted because everything sounded amazing, but I eventually went for the laksa and was not disappointed. It’s on the pricier side at £17 a dish, but definitely worth it!

Nice but pricey! - Edit
2nd time here, Kundan Kurry was good and the tofu was lovely. Nice treat but very expensive, 2 mains and 1 drink cost us £51.

Fantastic Food - Edit
This was our second visit to Jumon while in Belfast & it was equally as good as our previous visit.
Read moreThis time, I ordered the Jiaozi & Chaat me up, both "small". My partner ordered the Pad Thai which was "big". He had a kombucha & I tried the APA to accompany our mains. Again we were blown away by the flavours. The food was AMAZING. The depth of flavours in each dish was wonderful. If I lived in Belfast this place would be a regular haunt.
This time we decided to try a dessert. The dark moon was the only vegan option, chocolate moose, brownies & raspberry ice cream. The 'ice cream' was in fact a sorbet and had a high amount of ice crystals in it but that said, it was a great dessert.

Tasty but a little disappointing - Edit
Jumon is well-liked in Belfast and is the only veggie place open for dinner in the city center. Asian food is my favorite cuisine and I'm a little fussy about it I guess. I just felt Jumon wasn't all that.
Read moreWe ordered a laksa and a rice dish (forgot the name of the latter). The laksa was not a traditional laksa soup at all but rather a type of thick curry sauce (like a katsu) topped with exactly 4 blocks of tofu, 4 pieces of thinly sliced eggplant and zucchini, and not much else but a bed of noodles for nearly 20 quid. The rice dish was plated similarly. I couldn't detect much in the way of Asian spices in them. The dumplings starter was pretty good though and actually my favorite item ordered.
Overall, the food had nice flavors, but it just didn't hugely impress me and imo, not really good value for money. If you like hipster places with creative cocktails though, you'll probably like it.

Very delicious food, would recommend the Laksa dish. Didn’t taste too oily or unhealthy and was full of flavour. It was very busy and felt a bit crowded in terms of seat spacing. Also quite pricey but the taste of the food felt worth it!

Just okay - Edit
I've been there in search of comfort food. Had the Jumon Ramen. Was quite spicy (not the kimchi itself) and too salty in my opinion. Tofu in it would have been great for protein or a little more veggies, seaweed instead of aragula maybe... Portion was okay, service was really poor for a table for 1 person, almost like I didnt exist.

Jumon - Edit
My partner and I were absolutely pleased with the majority of our meal here.
Read moreThe Malaka Laksa main was the star of the show. Amazing! The gochujang tofu was also incredibly delicious, as was the broccoli small. The only disappointment was the Kundan Kurry, which was so bad we didn’t really eat it.
My partner couldn’t stop talking about how delicious all the vegan food was and how he was extremely pleased with the meal (except the KK).

Had a blast! Great food, cocktails and staff - Edit
I went on holiday to Belfast with eight friends and had our favorite meal at Jumon! The food was really delicious, even the usual meat eaters agreed! There was a good variety of food, but you would have to like a bit of chilli. I do have to shout out to the cocktails too, which were amazing1 The restaurant has a great vibe and the staff are super friendly and cool. We had a blast.

The small plates were a bit too small and the big plates a bit too big but I recommend getting a big one anyway since the food tastes so good you will want to eat it all no matter how full you are.

Very detailed dishes - Edit
Really detailed dishes. Reminds me a bit of fine dining with lots of tiny, tasty, colourful components. We had a small plate each as a starter and a large plate each as a main. I had the nori starter. It was like hot sushi. Really unusual and tasty. My jackfruit curry was tasty and more filling than I expected. The jackfruit was in with the rice and then the sauce was served on the side. Lovely to get tofu as well as jackfruit. The pickled lychees were a lovely contrast. Lots of vegan options to try. We found the acoustics noisy and hard to chat. I remember this previously but thought a Monday night would be quiet but it was nearly full. Great to see so many people enjoying meat free meals!

A good choice if ever in Belfast. - Edit
We were in Belfast for the weekend and I was struggling to find places to eat with good plant based options. We went here for dinner and it was pretty good. The menu is Asian fusion themed. We shared four of the smaller dishes between two of us for starters, and then had one of the larger dishes each for a main. I also had a brownie with raspberry sorbet for a desert. Everything we had was decent.
