Worth a visit!

Great menu with an amazing selection of dishes and drinks. We had a couple of small dishes and a couple of bigs, all were delicious.
One of the best veggie/vegan restaurants I’ve ever been to, such good vibes.

Great drink menu too, good selection of wine & cocktails.

Staff were really friendly and keen to give recommendations.

Delicious but pricy and asks for a tip.

Great food - portions were adequate but not huge for the price. Really enjoyed our visit.

Pros: Food tasted amazing, Staff were nice, Good menu selection for vegans

Cons: Music too loud, My tip : "Join a union", Sticky tables. Ew.

Date Vibe + Delicious Spicy Food

Complex drinks, spicy fare, exquisite dessert. I almost passed on a drink, but glad I ordered one. The non alcoholic mixed drinks were a hit too. Tons of spice to them.

Be aware that they use V for vegan and VA for vegan adaptable, but not well. For example, the ramen said V but had egg. When I asked they said it can be made vegan by omitting the egg.

Overall great food, but quite spicy, including the Gadogado salad.

Also, while the restaurant says they close at 10, kitchen closes about an hour earlier.

Too expensive for what you get.

If you’re vegetarian or vegan, it’s likely you’ve had to learn to cook and it’s likely you’ve become a good cook. Maybe it’s because I can cook good veggie food that I found Jumon’s fare uninspiring. I had a curry, which consisted of brown rice, four cubes of tofu, a peanut sauce, a bread-like tuile and a garnish of thinly-sliced red peppers. It was nicely presented and tasted OK but wasn’t worth the extortionate £17 they charged. It’s effectively Asian street food at overly-inflated prices. The restaurant’s ambiance is nice but the food is far too expensive for what you get. To be fair, it’s not just Jumon that does this. It’s become the norm in expensive Belfast, where we’re now paying London prices to eat out.

Pros: Nice ambiance, Attentive staff, Good range of drinks

Cons: Too expensive, Average food

Tastiest food and cocktails ever🤤

Lovely staff and delicious Asian vegan food. I recently took my boyfriend who isn’t a vegetarian/vegan and he said it was the nicest food he’s ever had(we ordered loads of starters, cocktails and both the desserts which are vegan!). My favourite vegan place in Ireland 😍

Delicious

It took me ages to choose what I wanted because everything sounded amazing, but I eventually went for the laksa and was not disappointed. It’s on the pricier side at £17 a dish, but definitely worth it!

Asian inspired heaven

Fully veggie and lots of vegan options
Everything was so flavourful and delicious
We shared the KFB (must try) and I had the Jumon Ramen (minus the chilli oil cos I’m white and bad with spice lmao)
BF got the Mandu Tacos (veggie) and was raving about them

Pros: Diverse, Flavour

Unique dining in Belfast

Their entire menu is vegetarian and almost every dish is vegan.
Their asian fusion menu is excellent and their portions are very big. You can also tell their ingredients are very fresh.

Pros: Great portion sizes, Lovely staff, Ambient and decor are great too

Nice but pricey!

2nd time here, Kundan Kurry was good and the tofu was lovely. Nice treat but very expensive, 2 mains and 1 drink cost us £51.

Fantastic Food

This was our second visit to Jumon while in Belfast & it was equally as good as our previous visit.

This time, I ordered the Jiaozi & Chaat me up, both "small". My partner ordered the Pad Thai which was "big". He had a kombucha & I tried the APA to accompany our mains. Again we were blown away by the flavours. The food was AMAZING. The depth of flavours in each dish was wonderful. If I lived in Belfast this place would be a regular haunt.

This time we decided to try a dessert. The dark moon was the only vegan option, chocolate moose, brownies & raspberry ice cream. The 'ice cream' was in fact a sorbet and had a high amount of ice crystals in it but that said, it was a great dessert.

Tasty but a little disappointing

Jumon is well-liked in Belfast and is the only veggie place open for dinner in the city center. Asian food is my favorite cuisine and I'm a little fussy about it I guess. I just felt Jumon wasn't all that.

We ordered a laksa and a rice dish (forgot the name of the latter). The laksa was not a traditional laksa soup at all but rather a type of thick curry sauce (like a katsu) topped with exactly 4 blocks of tofu, 4 pieces of thinly sliced eggplant and zucchini, and not much else but a bed of noodles for nearly 20 quid. The rice dish was plated similarly. I couldn't detect much in the way of Asian spices in them. The dumplings starter was pretty good though and actually my favorite item ordered.

Overall, the food had nice flavors, but it just didn't hugely impress me and imo, not really good value for money. If you like hipster places with creative cocktails though, you'll probably like it.

Had the tastiest vegan pad thai! Service was great too and the chilli oil I asked for on the side was smoky and spicy! 🌶️🧡

Veg Fest

Belfasts only quality vegetarian restaurant which has more vegan than vegetarian options.
Delicious food and big portions served by super friendly and attentive staff.
No parking nearby but sure leave the car and enjoy something from the extensive cocktail list.

Loads of vegan options

Plenty of choice, food arrived very quickly, staff were nice.
My meal was nice but also didn't blow me away as I feel I've had similar meals in other places. However the starter was really well made crispy tofu which sets it apart.

Delicious food and cocktails

I went with family and the food here convinced two veggie-skeptics that vegan food can be good! A good mix of individual dishes and sharing plates, plus excellent cocktails.

It was incredibly busy - 1h wait without a reservation

Try the margaritas

Very delicious food, would recommend the Laksa dish. Didn’t taste too oily or unhealthy and was full of flavour. It was very busy and felt a bit crowded in terms of seat spacing. Also quite pricey but the taste of the food felt worth it!

Just okay

I've been there in search of comfort food. Had the Jumon Ramen. Was quite spicy (not the kimchi itself) and too salty in my opinion. Tofu in it would have been great for protein or a little more veggies, seaweed instead of aragula maybe... Portion was okay, service was really poor for a table for 1 person, almost like I didnt exist.

Jumon

My partner and I were absolutely pleased with the majority of our meal here.

The Malaka Laksa main was the star of the show. Amazing! The gochujang tofu was also incredibly delicious, as was the broccoli small. The only disappointment was the Kundan Kurry, which was so bad we didn’t really eat it.

My partner couldn’t stop talking about how delicious all the vegan food was and how he was extremely pleased with the meal (except the KK).

Had a blast! Great food, cocktails and staff

I went on holiday to Belfast with eight friends and had our favorite meal at Jumon! The food was really delicious, even the usual meat eaters agreed! There was a good variety of food, but you would have to like a bit of chilli. I do have to shout out to the cocktails too, which were amazing1 The restaurant has a great vibe and the staff are super friendly and cool. We had a blast.

Pros: really great food, delicious cocktails, great atmosphere/ vibe

Cons: must like an element of chilli in your food

Great food, big portions

The small plates were a bit too small and the big plates a bit too big but I recommend getting a big one anyway since the food tastes so good you will want to eat it all no matter how full you are.

Very detailed dishes

Really detailed dishes. Reminds me a bit of fine dining with lots of tiny, tasty, colourful components. We had a small plate each as a starter and a large plate each as a main. I had the nori starter. It was like hot sushi. Really unusual and tasty. My jackfruit curry was tasty and more filling than I expected. The jackfruit was in with the rice and then the sauce was served on the side. Lovely to get tofu as well as jackfruit. The pickled lychees were a lovely contrast. Lots of vegan options to try. We found the acoustics noisy and hard to chat. I remember this previously but thought a Monday night would be quiet but it was nearly full. Great to see so many people enjoying meat free meals!

A good choice if ever in Belfast.

We were in Belfast for the weekend and I was struggling to find places to eat with good plant based options. We went here for dinner and it was pretty good. The menu is Asian fusion themed. We shared four of the smaller dishes between two of us for starters, and then had one of the larger dishes each for a main. I also had a brownie with raspberry sorbet for a desert. Everything we had was decent.

Creative cocktails and dishes

Visited with the family on a trip to Belfast. There’s not a lot of veggie restaurants in the city, so we really appreciated having lots of vegan options here! Delicious food, good portion sizes and super quick service. Especially enjoyed the
creative cocktails and the the tap water served in an upcycled liquor bottle 😍! Would recommend!

Pros: Creative cocktails, Friendly staff, Nice atmosphere

Cons: A bit pricey
