Serves meat, vegan options available. Cuban themed tapas restaurant with vegetarian choices and a few for vegan like hummus and bread and perhaps lentils with eggplant or onion fritters. Reported closed, Mar 2020.
A small restaurant in the back of the Balcon foodcourt. We told the owner I think, that we were vegan and she came up with a fantastic combination of dishes served together tapas style for us. We got baked eggplant with lentils and hummus with flatbread and olives.
If you are vegetarian, you will have loads of options here. There's a few less if you are a vegan, granted, but the staff were so friendly and let me know which dishes they could adapt for me. One of the owners is a Cuban guy who seems to spontaneously break into song and produce maracas or a guitar from no where. There was even an impromptu dance lesson at one point!
I had a really nice lentil and aubergine bake, hummus, falafel, and sweetcorn fritters (as well as the usual bread and olives). The mojitos were amazing (they didn't scrimp on the rum!). We actually went here twice as it had so much choice for vegans compared with other places in the area (this is not a super vegan friendly part of the world!). My omni family loved it too :)
I would definitely recommend this place!
Although the place is very cosy and the owners are friendly, this is not a restaurant to recommend. We had hummus with flatbread (tortilla's out of a bag, not fresh), the onion fritters (a hard rock) and lentil aubergines (which was good but overcooked). Bottom line, not the place if you expect a healthy and fresh meal.
