Vegan Restaurant in the ❤️ of Kona - Edit
Amazing vegan restaurant in the heart of Kailua-Kona. I believe the menu changes based on what we saw in person versus what’s on HappyCow, so I highly recommend checking the online menu! We had the Feisty Journey Tacos, Sourdough Flatbread, and Kona Sunrise Wrap - all were lusciously full of flavors!

Best vegan food that we had on the island! - Edit
We went here multiple times during our stay on this part of the island. The staff is wonderful! They were kind enough to stay open late for our party after my wedding ceremony.
Read moreWe've tried a good chunk of the menu. The Mac n cheese, pita wrap, pizzas, artisan rolls, soup/bread. I personally loved the Mac n cheese the best, I think it's the best vegan mac I've ever had. My family who are not vegan absolutely loved the falafel. Everyone was super happy with their food and the service!
The ice cream, cookies, and lava cake were delicious! Also the strawberry lemonade is so good!
I highly recommend Journey Cafe. They seem to have very steady business but we never waited too long. We had a fantastic time every time we went!
(There's also a cat cafe right around the corner!)

Won't get pizza again since more like flatbread with toppings. Didn't like the BBQ flavor even though I got the classic pizza.
The salad was fine, I liked their pockets.

They were giving vegan ice cream samples at the door, that helped get our non-vegan friends in the door 😉. Once we were in the sandwiches and salads were so good! Of course we ordered the ice cream dishes and cookies. Those non-vegan friends request requested we go back on another day, which we did!

This place is so good! We got the Journey Salad, Mac and cheeze upgraded to Mac Attack, and garlic knots. After a day on a plane we were so hungry! Food is fresh, big portions, staff so friendly and kind. Located in the middle section of little shops and was a little tricky to find because it’s not visible from the street or back paid parking lot (at least in the dark lol). Was so good we took more to go.

Tucked in a little shopping area on the main drag by the beach in Kona this little cafe puts out some delicious vegan food. The macadamia nut based ice cream is incredible. We had a Sourdough pocket which was delicious. The salads are also very very good.

We had the falafel salad and found it to be wonderful. The falafel is fried in such a way that its shell is very light, and the interior is less dense than usual too. A great garlicky dressing tops it all off.

Food is fantastic. My wife and I shared the Garlic knots, Mac n cheez, and the sourdough pocket. The Mac n Cheez and the Sourdough pocket came with a choice of tomato soup and bread or hummus and bread, so we got both. Everything was so flavorful. They also have a spinning wheel on the counter, we spun and won a 25% coupon. We came back later and got the Unicorn ice cream bowl and Açaí bowl, again, did not disappoint. I highly recommend when you come to the Big Island.

100% vegan restaurant! Had the Mac N Cheeze and BBQ Pocket. Would order again 100%. The hummus and toast combo that comes with the entrees were so full of flavor! The tomato soup was also flavorful.

My wife and I love this place so much we asked them to cater our wedding on the Big Island. They did a phenomenal job, maintaining the fresh, delicious, small-batch taste for even a large order. We have seen them grow and delight in each new addition they bring out. Definitely try the ube pancakes and the pockets!

Pizza, pitas, ice cream, brownies, etc., all vegan. Naturally gluten free options marked, and some other things can be made gluten free on request. Food was outstanding. Each entree comes with toast and tomato soup or hummus. Portion sizes are quite big. Ordering the bruschetta appetizer is unnecessary because it’s basically the same as the free toast.

Best food in Kona, dare I say on the island, dare I say the entire U.S. Seriously, this place is so amazing. It’s a bit pricey, but you get a lot of food. They give you hummus or tomato soup (sooo good) with each entree, and the entree portions are huge. Great drinks too. I didn’t try their soft serve but it looked amazing.
