A comfortable vegetarian cafe serving food such as marinated halloumi with Syrian couscous, smokey chickpea stew with Moroccan couscous, soups, and sandwiches. Dairy-free cheese is available. The cafe is situated in the centre of the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds near the market square. The owner also helps run a horse rescue farm and charity shop next door. Reported closed to HappyCow.

Fantastic veggie cafe! - Edit
My parents first told me about this place which has opened relatively recently and said that they'd had a wonderful lunch. When I visited I had a lovely goats cheese and rocket sandwich. There is a good choice of snacks and more wholesome dishes along with cakes. The price is very reasonable, the atmosphere relaxed and confortable, and the staff freindly. I highly recommend Josef's Vegetarian Cafe and will be sure to eat there every time I'm in the area. Oh and as a nice twist. Many many years ago the original building used to be a butchers! Progress indeed.
