Our new favorite restaurant in the area! - Edit
My husband and I are both vegan/vegetarian and this is our new favorite restaurant in the area. The restaurant owner is vegetarian, so they have an extensive veg menu. They cook all the veg food separate from the meat: separate grill, pans, utensils, etc. Of course it would be better if the place was 100% veg, but unfortunately there really aren't any decent 100% veg places in the Albany-Troy area.
Read moreThe vegetable quesadilla (fresh corn, spinach, grape tomatoes, scallions, etc.) was SO wonderful! The butternut squash soup was great too.
The food is mostly Mexican, while the pub is Irish-style. Unlike most Mexican food, the food served at Jose Malone's is extremely FRESH because they get a lot of their ingredients (esp. vegetables and fruit) from local farmers and our Troy Farmer's Market.
The setting and decor is wonderful too... it's in one of the many historic buildings you find in downtown Troy, reminiscent of something you see in Paris or London... lots of old dark wood (oak?) and brick. Very clean interior, and friendly helpful staff. Reasonable prices: our full meal for 2 w/ drinks was $50.
Very highly recommended!
Pros: Fresh, Healthy, Great Veg Menu
Cons: Not 100% Veg, Loud, Small
