An oasis in a food desert

We went to the location on the ground of the Beatrix Potter house and it was such a lovely surprise to find a vegan cafe in such a rural area. The brownie I shared with my sister was divine.

Lovely post hike snack

Popped in after a hike around the local area. Smaller than the Joey’s at Wray castle with only a few food options (but loads of cold drinks including Karma Cola, kombucha, fruit juices, beer & wine). We went for a vegan sausage roll and a chickpea curry pastie; they also had nachos & mushroom soup on offer. My pastie was piping hot and pretty big with loads of tasty filling. I was hoping for a vegan Mr Whippy machine but alas not. They did have an excellent selection of vegan cream in their freezer though, so I can’t complain too much!

Excellent vegan cakes, pies and location

Great place to stop on a bike ride or walk adjacent to the lake shore.
It's a shame about serving cow milk but for bringing great tasting vegan food to the many National Trust visitors this is excellent.

Delicious cake

All the food is vegan! The Guinness cake was so so good. It went perfectly with a cup of coffee. The staff is friendly. They have indoor seating now too

Gorgeous Vegan Cake

Love Joey's at Claife Viewing Station and we visited twice in a week for coffee and cake and what a selection of vegan cakes, it was amazing. We ordered a ginger cake which had a lovely deep spicy taste and a lush caramel slice. Love this place and will revisit when we are next in the Lakes.

Pros: Vegan cakes, Plant milks

Lovely veggie cafe

Quick convenient place for walkers to have a pick me up. Only outdoor seating. No on site toilet.

Service was quite slow, however we did visit there at lunchtime.

Plenty of vegan friendly pasties, cakes, nachos, ice creams and more. The nachos, cakes and ice creams were all very tasty.

Reasonable priced food and drink. Definitely one to visit if you're in the area.

Pros: Huge range of vegan friendly food, Lots of non-dairy milks, Nice vibe

Cons: No on site toilet, Serves dairy milk
