Expensive for what you got - Edit
Whilst the dishes were nice overall - some things a bit bland. We thought it was quite expensive for the portion sizes.

Beware of fish - Edit
Please read previous reviews about fish in the dishes, I wish I would have read these before I went. I ordered the cashew nut stir fry with tofu which was under the ‘Vegetarian’ section. It arrived and tasted exactly like fish. I felt sick. It was also very expensive for what it’s worth, £13.50 for a few pieces of tofu and veg with no rice or noodles.

Very tasty, plenty of vegetarian options - Edit
Lots of options marked as vegetarian, but none as vegan. However, menu described ingredients well, stating, for example, that they included coconut milk. So, was able to make informed decisions about what was free of dairy and eggs.

Staff very nice and helpful, so no doubt would be happy to help.
Pros: Affordable , Tasty, Lots of vegetarian options

Absolutely delicious vegan options - Edit
Had the vg sharing platter to start, sweet corn fritters, veg spring rolls, aubergine tempura & tofu satay skewers - all delicious and tasty. I had the vg yellow curry and coconut rice which were also super tasty. My partner had a sizzling dish which he said was also gorgeous. You need to state no fish sauce as in any Thai restaurant if you want it vegan. Would definitely go again!

Disappointing Don't Bother - Edit
We ordered vegan and vegetarian options to takeaway. Informed 30mins for collection over the phone, turned up 30 mins later only to be told a meat eater got our order in error. Had to wait another 30mins on the pavement outside, due to COVID safety measures. The food wasn't worth the wait. Worst Thai vegan and vegetable dishes we have ever had e.g. Too oily, Thai green veg curry was like soup, sticky rice came in a packet and vegetarian sharing platter was bland.

Cons: Expensive for a poor food.

Some of dishes marked with a V for veggie contain fish paste - Edit
Please be super careful in here. Many of the V dishes contain shrimp paste or fish sauce. This is ludicrous to think someone may have an allergy and order one of veggie dishes. Will the owners please amend the menu so customers can get the correct information. I mean a Pad Thai Jay should be veggie as Jay means no fish / animal in Thai!!!! Sort it out.

Excellent food - Edit
You have to go up a flight of stairs to get in here. Cheap and cheerful, colourful Thai-themed interior. I was especially tickled by the toilet doors, which have a picture of (I assume) a Thai man and woman instead of "Gents" and "Ladies" signs. Front of house staff are Thai and don't speak English as a first language, but certainly know what a vegan is and which dishes are vegan (I wish native English-speakers always knew this...). They suggested substitutes when a dish was not available. Prices are moderately expensive. The vegetarian platter was great for a starter (between two people). Curries were delicious though quite small, so I recommend a side dish of rice as well. Banana spring rolls were nice for dessert but I especially recommend the sago with coconut cream topping. No-one could imagine that a dish made of sago, and which looks like pale green fish eyes, could possibly be so delicious. Full marks!
Read moreUpdate: apologies, when I later asked a member of staff, he said that many of the dishes in the "vegetarian" section contain fish sauce (and didn't understand why this was a problem), so to get an edible meal you have to specify that you want a non-fish-sauce meal (they complied with this when asked). So this is not a very vegetarian-friendly place after all. Still love the food, though.

NEITHER VEGAN NOR VEGGIE - Edit
I went to Jintana Thai this weekend as the only option around for vegan food. However, when I asked about vegan options, the waitress didn't know what vegan meant. When I explained, she said she doubted any dishes would be suitable because even the vegetarian dishes have fish sauce in them! I was quite shocked and asked why they were called vegetarian if they included fish sauce.. There was no warning on the menu either.
Read moreThe waitress replied that her boss (the owner) was vegetarian but he ate fish, so that's why they are called vegetarian dishes. I replied saying that he wasn't vegetarian then, but a pescetarian!
Anyway, nothing suitable here for veggies of any nature. Most disappointed. Perhaps it should be removed from Happy Cow.
Cons: Nothing vegan, Nothing vegetarian
