Good for Waterville ME - Edit
Not many options north of Portland, so I was grateful to stumble on this place while driving through. Picked up takeout and ate while charging the car. Food was still hot - too hot to easily eat. And spicy. So I’m not sure I really experienced the flavor.
Read moreOverall it was a good pit stop, but nothing I’d seek out. Too greasy and hot.
Shared the Chana Masala and Saag Dal. Preferred the flavor of the Dal. The Masala was oily and everything it touched in now stained yellow (my hands, phone case, water bottle, fork…not good car food!!)

Good and pricey - Edit
Got take out tonight on our way through town. Happy to have a solid vegan option with so many good reviews here on Happy Cow. Got the channa masala, saag dal, and an order of nan that came to $40. Maybe that’s where it should be priced, I was just surprised, it felt high to me. Anyway, both the entrees were very yummy, the nan however seemed like wasn’t fresh, like chewy and tough.
Read moreAll in all a good experience and would stop again if we were going through town at dinner time, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.
Pros: Good vegan options

Vegan friendly - Edit
I was very excited to see that Jewel of India has vegan gluten free options advertised right on the door to their restaurant. We had a great meal here, and the folks working here were able to point out the vegan options on the menu. I got the Bombay Masala, which was excellent. Hey also have fresh mango juice, which was a great substitute for mango lassi, which I have missed since going vegan.

Delicious Indian Food - Edit
We have recently move to the area and were pleased to find this local restaurant that advertises vegan options. The food was really good and the service was great. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable of vegan requirements. This will be a regular spot for us going forward. The restaurant itself was also very nice. A cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

Superb Indian Food - Edit
I had an incredible lunch at Jewel of India. First off, I need to mention the beautiful interior of the restaurant. The decorations are lovely and they contribute to a warm and friendly atmosphere. The food is all incredible. You need to order up some Naan - which pairs beautifully with the different sauce options at the table. I also decided to try the Bombay Masala. It was a hearty dish that was rich with spices. Overall, I'm really happy with the quality of the food and would happily return again!

Decent Indian food - Edit
This is the first Indian restaurant in Waterville. They have a pretty standard menu, and the food is likewise. The prices are a little high for central Maine, but in line with Indian restaurants that I've been to elsewhere. And the portions are pretty big, commensurate with the prices.
Read moreThey clearly label vegetarian items. They can also accommodate vegan upon request.
Pros: Veggie options
Cons: Pricey
