Delicuous food - Edit
We called to ask whether they were open and the owner was so kind. There was one vegan dish but it had a lot of different and diverse ingredients. The service was also really sweet! 🥰

Perfect food after hiking in Seoraksan - Edit
The owner is super nice, explained the dishes as good as he could in english. Food was ready as soon as we ordered. Payed 40.000 won for 2 people, and it way too much! You get a soup to start, like 7 different side dishes, a bowl of race and the main course for bimbimbap. Free tea, water, and little alcoholic shot.

Best food so far in korea - Edit
If you tell them that youre vegeterian/vegan they bring you a lot of side dishes plus a plate full of stuff with bibimbap. Also got delicious tea before and for dessert. Great experience! We took a taxi from sokcho beach to the restaurant for ~7 Euro. Price for menu is 20.000 kwon for 1 Person (14 Euro).

Real deal - Edit
Do mention you are vegan, they will make sure to only give you vegan banchans.
Read moreEveryone at the restaurant is very knowledgeable about the herbs, berries, sauces, and veggies they as ingredients.
The fermented bean paste (dwenjang 된장) is serious, super dark and deep flavors. They seem to make their own enzymes and sauces from scratch.
Some of the ingredients are only or mostly medicinal, and I had never had them as banchan before.
Wish i could eat like this every day!

Outstanding Experience! - Edit
This is a great place to try traditional Korean food with special roots and herbs. We were amazed at the combination of flavors! It is very popular with Koreans and was very well frequented when we were there. However, the food was served super fast and the nice owner took the time to talk to us and explain the different dishes. Highly recommended!

We took the VIP MENU. It’s 40 won per person. We made a mistake thinking that this price was for 1. It was so big !

Food for the soul - Edit
I have to start by saying that I'm not usually a fan of this type of raw only foods but this place WOW, it really hit home for me. The roots and veggies were so well marinated. It didn't matter what I mixed with what, everything tasted so good and refreshing. It was a feast. After a day of hiking in Seoraksan this food was the perfect dinner for recovering.
Read moreThe first thing the waiter asked us was if we were vegan or vegetarian which made me feel more confident since I usually worry about restaurants knowing the difference. They served us amazing vegan food and the owner even gave us a free plate of something that I didn't even catch the name but devoured it in a second. The "coffee" at the end was the perfect touch. I was absolutely full at the end of the meal but also felt re-energized.
If you are in Sokcho, please treat yourself to this magical meal.
Pros: Local fresh food, Kind staff, Veeeeery filling

Absolutely Amazing!! - Edit
I cannot wait to eat here again! Everything was so fresh and delicious. I will always opt for Korean food when eating out in Korea and this was one of the best meals I’ve had so far. Such an amazing variety and many things you don’t see every day, like sunchokes, Easter Lilly, bellflower and some other foraged roots that I don’t even remember their names! So many varieties of mountain greens and mushrooms. It was totally spectacular.

I need to start foraging wild stuff as I hike! This was an amazing meal. They usually have 2 person minimum but he allowed me to dine as 1 with an amazing variety of food. I love unique places. I said I was vegan and they insisted they would only give me vegan dishes.

Best food in Korea, hands down - Edit
Wow... All I can say is wow. The food here is not only delicious but unlike anything I've ever had. From the pickled cucumbers and mountain potatoes, to the earthy, enormously-flavorful roots, and the amazingly colorful bimibap, I could not believe such diversified flavor could exist in one setting. I was a little hesitant at first because while I've been vegetarian for years, even I wasn't sure how I'd like this conglomerate of plants but all I can say (again) is, wow. You HAVE to try this place, vegetarian or not, and it will set an entirely new standard for a vegetarian meal. BOOM!

One of a kind veggie meal - Edit
We wondered around in the rain in Sokcho for ages without any luck finding a place that could make us something vegan. So we hopped in a taxi to this restaurant we heard about in a blog and we’re very glad we did. Food was excellent and had a unique taste. It was difficult to understand what each dish was but the majority of it was really delicious. We had the Bibimbap for 15000 each. The VIP meal would be suitable if you’re really starving for 30000 each. I think it says you need minimum 2 people to order either of these options. The sweet drink to start and the coffee to finish were delicious too. This was our favourite meal of our trip to South Korea. The staff members spoke a little English and all were very welcoming. Taxi ride was around 9000 each way from Sokcho, not sure if there are buses. Staff were happy to book taxi back for us. The Korean name is 점봉산산채, which is also on Google Maps.

Best vegan dish in S Korea - Edit
it is definitely the best vegan dish i’ve ever had in my entire life.
Read moreThe owner chef is Korean traditional wild herbs researcher, she has been cooking Korean traditional food for more than 35years.
There are different kinds of course menu and i ordered basic course which costs 15,000krw (around 13usd). Enzyme drink, soup, more than 10kinds of banchans (small dish) included. You can make your own Bibimbap with different wild herbs!
As a Korean i thought i am already quite familiar with Korean wild herbs but there were so many new ones with special effects which i’ve never heard of. I went there with my Korean Medicine Doctor friend and he said these ingredients are very precious and often used in Korean traditional medicine.
Staff, the son of owner chef, was amazingly friendly too. He kindly explained the effect of each ingredient everytime he was serving.
This place apparently is already famous amongst food researchers and foreign chefs but not to vegans yet although most of dishes are vegan.
I am not related to this restaurant. I am just posting this because i was so touched by their food.
I’ve added this place to Happy Cow.
it’s quite faraway, (it’s near Seoraksan, Sokcho area) but if you have any chance to visit nearby, guys you should absolutely try this place!
